MOST UNITS HAVE MONITOR OUTPUT ON THEM. IF YOU ARE GOING INTO THE PHONO INPUT ON THE RECIEVER YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A STEP DOWN CONVERTER. THIS REDUCES THE AMPLITUDE OF THE SIGNAL DOWN, SO THE PHONO INPUT CAN ACCEPT IT.

My receiver works fine when I plug my iPod into it, but when I plug my turntable in I can't get any sound. Any idea?

The phono cartridge on your turntable puts out a much lower level signal than your iPod. Back when turntables were popular, all receivers had a special phono input to take care of that. Your modern HK receiver does not have a phono input, so you need to get an external phono preamp. Plug the turntable outputs into the phono preamp inputs, then plug the phono preamp outputs into one of the audio inputs on the HK, like where you connected the iPod.

The two audio sockets you are connecting your Receiver to are not audio outputs, but inputs to the TV. So you will never get to hear the receiver playback of your TV that way!
Your best bet is to use the HDMI sockets either HDMI 1 or 2 and get a HDMI lead and take that to your Receiver, which hopefully should have an HDMI socket!
This should also pass video as well as hi-fi signals to your receiever.

How to hook up a turntable to a pioneer vsx-1019

receivers with a PHONO input can connect a turntable easily by just connecting the white and red stereo audio cables from the turntable to the phono inputs on the receiver. receivers without a PHONO input can still connect a turntable by using a phono-preamp whose output can connect to any analog stereo input on the receiver like CD or AUX. I need to know what model of a Motorola DVR is compatible with my receiver. What model can connect DIRECTLY from it's audio output to the audio input of my STA-795 Optimus Digital receiver (not through the...

Do you really have TV Audio OUT to a DVD (last sentence)?

Most DVR's have digital and analog audio outputs. Since every device they are intended to feed would have its own volume control a DVR output volume control might be redundant. Treat a DVR like any other audio device. Connect it to any available input on the receiver EXCEPT PHONO.

If you run the audio from the DVR (and EVERY video source) directly to the STA-795 you can bypass the TV and its questionable audio electronics (yuk). You can split the analog output of the DVR with y-cables and run it from the DVR to TO the TV for casual viewing and listening through the TV sound system (news, Oprah, etc).

I can't get a sound from my yamaha rx-v367. my tv is lg le5310

Connect the audio outputs jacks from the TV to any available audio input terminals on the Yamaha receiver, other than the phono input. You can use any analog audio Left (White) and Right (Red) inputs on your receiver such as the DTV/CBL, SAT or VCR input. There are no special settings needed on the receiver, other than selecting the correct input. There may be some settings that will need to be changed on the TV. Consult the TV ownersEmanual for setting up the TV to output audio to an external source. If youre TV has a digital output (Optical or Coaxial) it can also be run to one of the digital inputs on the Yamaha receiver, such as DTV/CBL or DVD. There may be some settings that will need to be changed on your TV. As always, consult the TV ownersEmanual for setting up the TV to output digital audio to an external source.

NOTE: When the source of the audio signal is coming from an HDMI device connected to the TV, the TV may not output in 5.1 surround sound.

Denon 2802 amp

Dear Armani,

You cannot put de leads from an MP3 player or your TV into the pre-amplified connection of your Denon,
the phono "stage" is a low input stage, your input from MP3, TV, CD, DVD oscasetteplayer is high output (a 5 to 10 times stronger signal)
Try every other stage like tape 1 or 2, this will work just fine,

succes

I have a aiwa cx-na77, how do I connect it to a tv so that I hear the tv sound on the aiwa speakers

If it has an "AUX" input or any other type of RCA jacks for an input, you can connect the TV RCA audio jacks output to the input RCA jacks of the Aiwa.

That's what you would need.

RCA audio outputs on the TV

RCA audio input on the Aiwa

Just look at the back of each unit and see if it has them. RCA audio jacks are the small circular red and white jacks. They will be labed on each unit what they are for. You need output jacks on the TV and input jacks (but not for phono) on the Aiwa.

Pioneer vsa e06

depends what audio outputs you have on the sky box, analogue (two phono usually red for right channel and white left channel)in which case just use phono leads to the phono inputs,Optical(toslink),connect an optical cable from the output to the optical input on the dvd channel of the pioneer, coaxial (spdif)connect to spdif input on the laser disk input of the pioneer, dont connect to the attenuated spdif. In the unlikeley event of the sky box not having any audio outputs, just use the outputs from the tv to the pioneer. The optical digital input gives the best quality on the vsa eo6
