I have acer travelmate 2355nxc with 40 gb hdd. want to know how to increase its speed and capacity.

Hi, how are you?

To upgrade your laptop, you will have to verify the capacity for upgrade of your laptop.

The Acer Travelmate comes with:

  • Intel Celeron-M 360 Processor 1.4GHz
  • 256MB DDR SDRAM -
  • 40GB Hard Drive
  • DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive - To read DVDs and CDs and write CDs
  • 15" XGA TFT Screen
  • Intel 852GM 64MB shared graphics
  • Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition

  • Based on this information, you can upgrade your memory depending on what type of memory your motherboard supports and how many empty slots for memory does your laptop have.

The hard drive can be upgraded also depending on which hard drives does the BIOS will recognize.

I will suggest to contact ACER and ask for the options and upgrades capacity.

    God Bless You!!!

    Hope it helps.

No there is no problem in upgrading the hard drive.
You can upgrade it as much as your system supports it.First check your system capacity of expansion of the hard drive's space. You must know the maximum capacity of the hard disk on your system .
    Thanks.

CAN NOT TERN ON COMPUTER BUT GREEN LIGH ON MOTHERBOARD ASUS P4B288 IS ON

It sounds like your +12 volt line of your power supply is bad. The motherboard uses +5 for most of its functions and chips, so the led and most of the board would work. The +12 volts drives the motor in the hard drive. You can measure the voltages on the molex connector, red wire is +12, yellow is +5, both blacks are grounds. Even if the voltage looks good, however, the supply can break down under a load, so in the event that it does look good, still try another power supply. If that doesn't work, disconnect the CD and DVD drives to make sure they aren't loading down the power supply. Hope this helps.

    Upgrade Acer Aspire m1100

Is you are going to do a complete overhaul, you are better off going with a ASUS motherboard, with a processor, and 4 GB of memory. Here is a good place to get all these parts and your computer will run REALLY great.

I have a Sony Vaio UX380 Micro PC. I am extremely happy with this little computer, but I had just a few questions that I would like to ask. (1) I have seen sites post RAM for the UX for sale; is there...

google that model with the added word(s) memory upgrade and chose what you want. (2) again find out what upgrades for the hard drive keeping in mind that you will need to reinstall an operation system, Get yourself a usb hard drive to back up all the files you wish to keep. (3) that question depends on how much money you want to spend and what you use the laptop for. upgrades for laptops are somewhat limited but more memory and a larger hard drive a good ways to go (yes size does matter with hard drives)
