    How do you re-import??

  • northernrep Jan 25, 2009

Thanks for the comment. There appears to be a number of icons missing in the menu. Some appear to be cut off. No Image Editor in the menu that comes up on the page. Mmmm I wonder if there is a conflict between screen size and program screen size. I am using a acer laptop. Could there be an an ajustment to the screen on my laptop so all the icons appear..

You need to use the Nero Image Editor that comes with Nero and look obviously for the Text option or the slanted capital T. If not you can edit your image in a program like GIMP (free, just do a search on Google) and then re-import into Nero9.

I would like to know what this print is called and who painted it

A way to find multiple versions of an image is to go to google images and drag the image from your computer to the search bar. The picture can even be a picture you took of it! Once you do that it will show you possible images as well as different sizes. Since you're looking for the artist, maybe one of the websites mentions the artist.

I have added a picture (done as a transparency) as my background on a calendar but when I print, the background picture does not print. How do I change this? Please help...Thanks a bunch!

You may have to adjust the transparency settings to see what the lowest limit your printer will print.
Try doing a test page with multiple images set at different levels to see which works the best.

Does not read .sig files

Small text file that can be automatically attached to the end of e-mail messages; usually includes the sender's name and e-mail address; in work-related e-mails, the signature may also include the name of the person's company, the person's title, and contact phone numbers; some people choose to include a quote or Bible verse in their e-mail signature.

Printed size of image is different from screen size

make sure when your in the printer settings window, that "auto resize to fit paper" isn't selected, as that will alter the size of your image when printed

Inside of greeting card.

Yes and no. Unless you have a printer that prints on two sides you will have to "trick" it and use the template for both. Make a front and a back. You will have to print one one side then inset it to print on the other side. Since all printers feed difrently you will have to play with this on scrap first before using your good card stock. For example I made invitations to a wedding. The couple wanted a pcture on the fornt. On my template I had to rotate the picture upside down so when it was folded in half the picture wa right side up. It also had a raised rose on the invitations so I had to adjust the image so it would print in the empty are on the front. I then had to do the inside text and makes sure the paper was inserted correctly as not to print upside down. You can do it but it is tricky, that is why I recommend some scrap paper first. Good Luck.

I can't print due to internal error: bad record index 8901:20515

I agree with DCS13 it's a links problem. Maybe not so much one that is missing but one that is incompatible. PageMaker was a PostScript Level2 application, and as most Adobe (owners of PostScript) apps are Level3 since about 2001/2 most generically made items containing postscript (.eps, .pdf, .psd) will likely have problems printing to a postscript device. I assume you're using this for work purposes as if you were a home user it would be most unlikely you have a PostScript printer - unless you're trying to make a PDF of the file.
There's a couple of solutions, all involve removing the incompatible postscript language of your placed images. IF an image/file was supplied to you and it's the culprit, have the supplier remake the artwork at a Level2 postscript (or if it's a PDF a version 4 compatible PDF - Acrobat v1.3); if it's not supplied and maybe clipart or a web image, take it into Illustrator or Photoshop and save it as a relevent file type - be aware of rasterising type if it contains text and try and keep to a high resolution.
It's been some time since you've posted this, so an update would be good - how did you go?

Need to get scanned photos to between 300 and 600 dpi

What I saw first off is that although the resolution indicates 96 DPI, the file size itself between the 2 examples are drastically different. You are putting raster images into MS Word for publication work, and that is a NO NO. Word was not created for any kind of high resolution printing. It's a glorified text editor that people seem to think is an option for printing. YOU WILL NEVER GET 300 or 600 DPI images out of Word. Ever.
To create your project for printing, you need to use software more suited for the task. InDesign and Quark are examples, but they are very expensive. In my opinion, Publisher would be better for this kind of project and I hate myself for saying that.
Talk to your Printer, find out his specifications for Applications and Linescreen for Printing. The minimum requirement is 280 DPI, but if the image is placed at 100%, 600 DPI is overkill.
Oh, and try to never scan a scan... you are looking for trouble... a little thing called a Moiré pattern comes into play, and it will make you images print NASTY!
I could go on about your post all day long, but if there is anything else I didn't explain, please post again.

Lost fonts??

I ended up reinstalling all of the fonts I had removed and I could once again see my print options. Don't know which one one it was, but it was obviously one that came with the Windows program, not with the DIP program. Thanks anyway....

Kim....for the people that try to help on this site as well as tech forums or contacting the supplier you will need to be a bit more specific.....what is it that you see...there should be some sort of message. Forgetting that for the moment though you could have one of the following problems...a corrupt cd (meaning bad), incompatible with your operating system (if running an older O/S this is very possible since you are running a newer Value Print Workship), or a missing driver. Your best bet is to go to their website...valuesoft...and check FAQ's. There might be an answer there and if not try to use the support function.

Hope this helps....Tango
