If you've type in your password incorrectly, you should see a window pop up. At the bottom, it says "Forgotten your password?" (in blue), if you click this, it will take you to another window which will give you options to send the password to your email account registered with Facebook. OR, another link in blue has "Login Problems Help Page". Any of these should help - one thing though - did you type in your email address correctly at the login page? It will not match an incorrect email / correct password, or correct email / incorrect password combination!
If you have Windows XP Professional and have the ability to login to a domain, ensure you're logging in to your computer, since that is where you changed your password. If you can't see a dropdown menu with the domain or your computer, click the details button at the login screen.
Another thing you can try is to boot into safe mode and change the password, assuming you haven't set an administrator password. When booting up, press "F8" before the Windows loading screen pops up. Choose to boot into Safe Mode. If it gives you a login prompt, login as Administrator with either no password or a password you know for the administrator. You can then attempt to change the password.
