Try a different code for the same brand (there should be several), as shown in the manual for the universal remote. Sometimes a code will half-work, while another code will fully work.

Remote does not work. Can't turn tv off or change channels.Have tried changing batteries.

First, let's check to see if the remote is giving out signals. With a phone camera or similar device look at the end of the remote, where the signal comes out. Press a bunch of buttons on the remote while looking at the signal output with your camera. If it's working, you should see flashes ever time a button is pressed. This is because cameras, like on most phones or digital cameras, can see infared light. If you don't see any flashes, that means there is no power. It might be bad batteries or a bad remote. This should help you narrow down the problem. Hope it helps!

All the codes and instructions you need should be there.

How to program philips universal remote

  • Turn on your TV (or other device). You will have to do this manually until you program your Philips remote control.
  • Look for the "Setup" or "Code Search" button on the Philips remote control. Which button your remote has will depend on the exact Philips remote control you are using. This button may be a different color or may be labeled.
  • Hold either the "Setup" or "Code Search" button for about 10 seconds. If your remote has a light, the light should begin blinking. If there is no light, you can just count to 10 and then let go of the button.
  • Press the "TV" button on the remote to program the Philips remote to your television set.
  • Find and press either the "Up" or "Down" channel button on the remote. Continue pressing either button until the television channel changes. This may take several minutes. Once the channel changes, press the "Power" button on the remote to turn off the TV. Your Philips remote will now be programmed to your television

I need to reprogram my rcr317w remote contact with manual

Turn the tv on. Hook up your components, turn them on, go in to tv menu and auto program the stations. It will see that there is a signal on channel 3 and lock it in for you.
