The buzzing is probably the relay trying to start the motor. See if the motor has a capacitor, have it checked. If the motor is all clogged with lint, the start/run switch can get blocked. Clean out all that lint with a vacuum cleaner.
Check the tub bearing, and make sure the drum spins freely.
If you push the start button and you here a buzzing sound, This sounds like the motor is bad.
Somthing you can try and this might not work. but open the dryer door and turn the drum a littel bit then close the door and try to start it. If it starts running again then you have hit a bad spot on the motor.
If it just still just makes the buzzing noise then the motor is most likley bad.
It sounds to me like the motor is not turning, but the heating element is coming on. with no air flowing over the element, it is getting too hot. Can you operate the start switch with the top tilted up so you can see if the motor is turning but the drum is not, and just where the buzzing is coming from. Also, I would try the dryer on manual setting and on air dry to see if any setting works. Good luck
When you press the push to start switch and you hear a buzzing/humming sound, it is the motor that has gone bad and CANNOT come on. PLEASE check the motor to see that IN FACT it is bad and that there is NOT SOMETHING foreign somwhere in the blower wheel or elsewhere stopping the system from freely turning
If the humming noise is coming from the motor, (take the back panel off) remove the power plug and try to turn the motor by hand. If it seems free, look for a 'starter' capacitor on the motor which may be bad.
pull motor switch out(the one with wires go in motor) best use compressed air.... lint is stopping lever... this all happens after you turn breakers off...hi hi
Remove the belt from the motor and push 'start'. If the motor makes loud noises, squeals, or the shaft has side play in several directions, then it probably is the motor. Replace it. If the the motor runs quietly, then check the drum by hand to see if it is making excessive noise while turning. There should be a little resistance to turning, but not real difficulty. Hope this helps.

I hear Buzzing sound when I push the start & it does not turn. However the drum does seem hard to turn by hand. Any suggestions ?
