Re: convergence problems on right side of toshiba 43h70...
Hello, its very possible there are other color alignments thats out of ajustements and certain color lines will affect each range of alignment and
you will need a tech to come out and check the control unit on your set.

Normally on the RCA rear projection TV's you would bring up your menu and choose the Setup menu, then press OK on the remote. That menu would then have Convergence as a choice. Once that was chosen the next menu would give you the choice of either letting the TV run it's own Autoconvergence program, or you would select either Red or Blue convergence.
Choosing Red Convergence would bring up a Yellow cross-hair in the middle of the screen. If the Convergence was not correct you would see separate Green and Red cross-hairs. Once they were perfectly aligned you would again see one Yellow cross-hair.
Choosing Blue Convergence would bring up a Blue cross-hair in the center of the screen. If the alignment was out you would see 2 Blue cross-hairs. Using the Up and Down and Left and Right cursor keys you would adjust the alignment until a single solid Blue cross-hair was in the center of the screen.
Your TV's Convergence may be out of line. To adjust this do the following.
1) Press the Menu button on your TV/Remote 2) Scroll through and select the "Advanced Features" Menu. 3) Select Blue Convergence 4) Use the V keys on your remote till the cross hairs are all lined up in the middle of the screen and the center one is white. 4a) You can use the "Video" button to switch between the red & blue cross hairs.
It sounds like a convergence problem---go into the customer menu and select convergence---set should offer center and multipoint adjustment--in the multipoint look to see if the outer crosses adjust--if red or blue will not adjust somewhere--bad convergence IC's.
Hello, You need 2 convergence ICs if you cannot converge the red and blue lines on top of the green "cross hair". You should be able to use the front panel controls to move the red and blue around. If you can move them around and they just won't move completely on top of the green then the ICs are bad. The ICs are mounted to large, finned heatsinks and have numbers that start with "STK-" and have numbers following. These parts are available from http:\\www.tritronicsinc.com.
You will need to replace the convergence ICs. You can order them at this link and they provide free support as well as installation instructions with pics so you can do the repairs yourself. You will need to replace both convergence ICs http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
Does the blue and red crosses move at all ... eather vertically or horizontally. if they move at all then it may not be the chips.. could be a resistor. if the crosses dont move then it probally the ic. these chips run about 7 to 45 dollars apeace depending on type. at our shop we charge around 125 to put in.
