Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: canon 50mm f/1.8 lens is not focusing.

I had the same problem with my ef 50mm 1.8. I used it on a cold day and broke off one of the internal gears. I used it for almost a year before I got the guts to take it apart and fix it. There are instructions online on how to take it apart, scary at first but not that hard overall. I used a small drop of crazy glue on the gear, put it all back together and just like new.

If the camera is used you may have a problem with the seller. Before jumping into conclusions however read your manual for your solution or simply search youtube for a help video. Hopefully this helped.

Cannot auto focus

It sounds like the circuit board flex has gone bad, It folds back and forth when you zoom the lens, And needs to be replaced by a repair shop and readjusted. Tony

Canon 75-300mm USM III, was initially working fine

Hi
you seemed to have a problem with the camera (auto-focus) mode. I suggest you try shooting in manual focus only but consider taking it to a canon service outlet for proper checks and service as a long-term solution.

I have a Canon 20D camera that I use with two lenses. The lens that I have most of my problems with is the 28-70 f2.8 red ring lens. When focusing It always seems to focus on what is behind the subject. No...

This is quite a well known problem called 'back focusing' there is little that can really be done about it, except if the camera is under warrnty you can send it in and they will do some laser alignment that fixes the problem, it would be worth a call to canon and getting a price quote on a service. Also it seems to be worse with some particuar lenses,

Cheers

Autofocus jumps around and often will not settle on the correct setting

what i do is usually put it onto manual focus then back to auto focus, what it may be is that you are using the wrong lens for your subject :/
