My dyson dc07 has too much suction and grips the carpet. Can you suggest a solution?

Remove the sole plate, inside it there is a rubber seal all the way around. Its like a piece of string. Remove it and refit the sole plate. This will allow a little air to pass around the sole plate that otherwise wouldn't have done. This will reduce the suction.

Can anyone explain how to grease the bearings on a Dyson DC14 vacuum and if theres a how to video or picture website that is available for reference??

Not sure what you mean when you say "grease the bearings". I am not aware of any bearings that can, or indeed ever need, greasing in any model of Dyson. The motor bearings are sealed for life and if noisey ths can only be properly cured by a replacement motor. The clutch is a sealed mechanism so again, if noisey must be replaced. Finally, the brush or beater bar bearings at each end are plastic on metal, so should'nt produce any noise anyway.

However, if you do want to dismantle your machine have a look at and look at the DC07 section (the DC07 is very similar to the DC14), this will give you a lot of information on how to dismantle your machine.

Broken trap door on dirt bin, can I just replace the door or do I need the whole bin

I have the same problem, and found the "trap door" available at Since the part number is shown there, you may be able to find it elsewhere more easily using that. I will keep looking elsewhere myself.

Seems like the belt may be getting old and not picking up as much as it used to.

Belts need to be replaced periodically. If the belt is worn it will not pick up the way it should. You can get DC07 replacement belts here:

Replacement belts for DC07 w/ clutch system

Replacement belts for DC07 w/out clutch system

Bar on my Dyson wont turn

If its a standard DC07 you can check the belt by loosening the pegs on the sole plate with a coin. Once this is taken off you can inspect the belt.

If you have an All Floors model/Green DC07 then the drive belt is a sealed unit which cannot be replaced and must be fixed by an engineer.
