How long to fully charge the battery

Bought a used gator and am wondering how long it takes to charge the battery.

Is it normal for the green light to turn off on the battery charger once the battery is connected? When the charger is plugged in, there is a green light. Once we plug in the battery, it goes immediately out.

We just bought this at a garage sale, and they said it worked fine. We charged it for about 1 hour earlier today and it didn't do anything once it was connected to the gator. I read to leave it plugged in for 12 hours. I don't mind, but would like to know if that is normal for the light to go out. Thank You!

    Thanks!

Definately the battery> They go bad often, if your little one isnt going to be driving the car, take out the battery and charge it every 3 weeks or so. NEVER PLACE IT ON CONCRETE!

It takes 8 to 12 hours for a charge. I leave ours in for 24 and it seems to last a little longer. You might need to purchase a new battery which you can get at Walmart by the power toys. They usually run about $40, hope this helps.

Bought new battery for the john deere gator ride on toy but only runs for a short time then battery needs recharging

Hi, How long does it run? Typically you should get at least 45 min of run time out a fully charged battery. If it's slowing gradually and dying in just a few minutes its the battery. If it's goign full speed and then stopping suddenly, it's probably the thermal breaker located in the shift mechanism.

How do i know if the battery is fully charged 12volt peg Perego battery

the charger's L.E.D. ... when plugged to the charger will glow GREEN if fully charged, YELLOW if charging, if it is charged and gator still is not working it is probably the shifter switch is bad, this is verycommon and fairly cheap and easy to fix(under 40.00)

I bought a gator last christmas 4 my son and only charged battery 6 times fully but now it will not work

most likely it is the shifter switch. Just to check you can exchange the red and blue wires under the pedal(just for a second or so, do not do this permanently) to see if you get power to the wheels, if so then yes it is Definitely only the shifter, but I am still pretty sure it is just the shifter. you can also call Peg Perego Tech support which is excellent and they can help you too 1800-728-2108 and parts can be priced and found at www.mypegperegoparts.com the battery charger should have a led light that will glow green at full charge, and yellow if not charged all of the way.

We just bought a new battery three weeks ago for the Peg Gator. It worked perfect up until now. It is going very slow and acting like the battery didn't charge Any suggestions? Could it be the battery...

this is a very common problem with these types of ride on toys, you have to make sure theres not to much weight in it or it will drain the battery almost right away, also the charger itself maynot be charging it fully . Try charging it fully, put the amount of weight you normally have in it and when it starts to slow down take out the child or children and reach in and push the gas pedal to see if it made a difference.

Old john deere gator and battery new charger still will not move

Could be several things.  Your battery could be bad. After not being charged for a while, they do go bad- often. You may want to try a new battery along with your new charger.  You could also have a switch /connection problem. If you get a new battery and it still doesnt work, you may want to check the switches and wiring. It is not uncommon for the switch to go bad especially if it had been stored outside.
