The best bet would be the microfiber type cloth.

How Can I Clean The Fingerprints Off The Screen On My TV? spacer.gif To clean fingerprints and greasy smudges off your TV screen, first try using a dry, anti-static cloth and rubbing gently.
Note: Many Samsung TVs come with a screen cleaning cloth. Use that cloth and follow the directions on the package.
If that does not work, get a bottle of ScreenClean screen cleaning solution or similar screen cleaner. You should be able to get it at most regular and on-line stores that sell monitors or TVs. Put a small amount of ScreenClean on a clean, soft, dry cloth, and then rub the screen gently.
WARNING: Never use any type of window cleaner, soap, scouring powder, or any cleanser with solvents such as alcohol, benzene, ammonia, or paint thinner. Never use abrasive pads or paper towels. If you do, you can scratch the screen or strip the anti-glare coating off the screen and cause permanent damage.
Cleaning It Right There are four steps you must take to do the job right:
  • Unplug your TV before you begin to eliminate the risk of electric shock.
  • If you use ScreenClean or a similar screen cleaner, put or spray the ScreenClean onto the cloth. Never put or spray it directly onto your TV screen.
  • Wipe as gently as possible. LCD, Plasma, and DLP screens in particular are fragile and can be damaged if you press too hard.
  • Let the screen dry completely before you plug the TV back in.
Food and DLP Screens Getting sticky food such as peanut butter or jelly off the screen of a DLP TV is especially difficult because the tiny grooves in the screen's surface trap small food particles. In fact, you probably will not be able to remove the food entirely. If you need to remove sticky food from your DLP TV screen, follow the directions above, be patient, wipe gently, take additional time, and understand that you will almost certainly leave some food residue on the screen.

The screen shows multiple tiny dots. (stars)

Are they sharp and defined, or 'blob'-like? If they are sharp, that would indicate a faulty DLP block (not worth repairing, unless under-warranty.) If they're more 'blob'-like, it's probably just dust in the optical block. That can usually be remedied by removing the lamp, and blowing-out the unit with an air compressor. Canned air won't do the job, as there's not enough pressure.

How to clean mirror and optics mitsubishi 73 dlp

You have to remove the lower panel on the back of your tv, then remove the light engine. Unhook the wires attached to the DMD board. Remove the DMD board. Remove the heat cink from the DMD board. remove the optical lens but don't touch the lens. There is a video on shopjimmy.com that shows the entire procedure. Takes 2 hours. The optical lens can be cleaned with an eyeglass cloth, same for the DLP chip lens. no wet solutions on lenses. Remove dust from other internal parts with compressed air in a can. Your picture will be clean and clear. Wear latex gloves and make sure you are grounded to prevent static electricity.

Message says airfow blocked, turns on for about a minute then shuts off

1. Remove the air intake filters on your DLP projector. As explained by InFocus, a manufacturer of LCD and DLP projectors, each DLP model will house the air filters in a different location. However, for most DLP projector products, the filters are accessible by unclipping a simple plastic latch.

2. Wipe the air filters with a small cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol.

3. Blow compressed air into the unit's vents. This will force some internal dust out of the DLP projector, but you may still need to open up the unit for additional dust removal.

4. Unsnap the main cover from your DLP projector. Because DLP projectors need periodic lamp replacement, the main cover is rarely secured with screws or bolts. However, if the DLP projector's cover does not snap off, then you'll want to inspect the unit for possible screws or an alternate release latch.

5. Reach in and remove visible dust globs with a paper towel. Be careful to avoid touching the lens, as fingerprint smudges can diminish DLP projector image quality. If you accidentally smudge the lens while picking out dust blobs, wipe the lens with a dry, lint-free microfiber cloth.

6. Spray compressed air into your DLP projector to remove any lingering dust particles.

7. Close up the projector and reattach the filters.

The toolbar is not working seems like the bottom part of the screen are not working. the screen also has lines.

try screen calibration. you can find it in prefs. the lines may be because your device fell or experienced some kind of shock. if screen calibration still won't work try downloading powerdigi (it's not free though, you can try first the demo) it calibrates screen almost perfectly! :)
Try cleaning the sides of the screen using cloth or thin paper to remove dust. accumulated dust may cause the lines. if not, ask for repair centers though it is very costly.

Hi there my benq dlp projector is showing white spots on the screen when the screen is black can you help me?

This is caused by dust on the lens assembly. If you can remove the lens, clean the surfaces with a lens cloth. That should resolve the problem. It is possible that the there is dust in the optical pathway inside the unit as well. If the cleaning of the lens does not resolve the problem, the unit should be brought in for a professional cleaning. It is not suggested that anyone open up these units as there are fine adjustments that can be changed internally easily that could result in convergence problems.

Screen cleaning

Use any lintless cloth. Spray any clener you use on the cloth, not the screen. I often just spray a little Windex (or store equivalent) onto a terrycloth rag and use that.
