Question about Dell 810 All-In-One InkJet Printer

New installation 810, printer works A1, scanner won't work

Just installing 810 all-in to brand new Dimension 520 dell it came with, printer functions fine, when trying to scan, it just balloons "Scan Not Successful" and the usual not that helpful suggestions regarding checking connections and power cords and re-starting comp. Of course USB and Power must be good or else the print side of the machine woildnt work.Cannot do test scan preview, the options for scanning on the scan and copying tab don't seem to illuminate. Any suggestions to, desperate to scan images for ebay items, good old Canon scanner which always installed in 5 mins with no issues, wont plug into this ***** computer which has no 25 pin sockets, usb connections only.

    I have the same problem - scanning is non-existent or with coloured lines down the page - lots of clicking noises when it is scanning as well. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software about 4 or 5 times without success, and also done the usual with the cables, just about to send it back, it only arrived on Saturday!

Uninstall and reinstall the software. Normally the software installed on the computer controls the scanner functions for the all in one dell stuff. Check dells site also for any updates that might correct this issue.

Have you installed compatible[Windows 7 OS] printer drivers in your new PC?If not uninstall the already installed drivers and install new drivers from this Dell support site. Also make sure you properly connect the printer with the PC.

I get a cartridge missing message in a Dell 810 printer

I am having the exact same problem. Just got my cartridge refilled, and whenever I hit the print command, I keep getting the message "printer cartridge missing." It's obviously there! gaahhh, so annoying! I hate dell.

Dell 810 all in one printer/scanner not scanning

scanning is a bit of a trick. You have to have hardware to scan with, and SOFTWARE to receive images. Make sure the scanners imaging software suite has been installed, OR, you can use the scanner manager in windows to scan with. Just select the dell 810 as the "scanner source" and click "scan". that should do it.

Sounds like your cartridge may be unseated or it is really incompatible. You do not state clearly that you have printed successfully with this cartridge before.

My windows 7 won't send anything to my dell 810 printer to be printed. The scanner part of it works but that's it. Why won't it send anything to be printed???

Uninstall the Windows 7 drivers, disconnect the printer, download and install the drivers from Dell's support site and reconnect the printer.

Can't change ink on dell 810. what do I do first? I don't know how to change ink in dell 810,I couldn't see how to take old one out as well and how to put new one please

Lift the priner unit lid on the printer llift he print cartridge lid,
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

Press down on the ink cartridge lever to raise the ink cartridge lid.
Remove the old ink cartridge.
Dispose of the old cartridge properly.

If you are installing a new ink cartridge, remove the sticker and transparent tape from the back and bottom of the ink cartridge.

Insert the new ink cartridge.

Snap the lid closed.
Lift the printer unit, and hold the scanner support up while lowering the printer unit until it is completely closed. Let me know if you have any questions.

try installing the original cartridges u got with the printer & reseating the power cable assembly....make sure u hav removed the tape frm the cartridge....
