Question about Compaq Presario Notebook
Yesterday i am watching a dvd film in my compaq notebook. suddenly the screen appears as scrached (the image struck ) and lines appear. i forcely switch off my laptop.
now it not going on , after reinserting the RAM.
By My Experince Display Problems of Bad and scrambled display are due to usege of bad RAM or abnormal powersupply.
But incase of a laptop these problems may also arise due to blowing of some of components on the motherboard like may your northbridge chipset which contains integrated graphics system and display controllers. using laptops for a longer time overheats some components and they melt. So next time dont ever let air spaces on the body your laptop get blocked. The same reason may have blown some ICs on the RAM.

2 After Vista Setup loads, confirm the Language, Time, Currency and Keyboard Method settings are correct then click Next.
3 On the Windows Vista Installation page, click Install Now.

6 On the Where do you want to install Windows window, make sure the largest Primary Partition is selected then click Next. If the Primary partition has 0GB free, there should be a separate line for Unallocated Space. Select this unallocated space and click Next.
