It ispossible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errorsdue to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main programcontroller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting fromthe flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit thewater at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then thevoltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to novoltage from the controller. This meansthe controller is a suspect.If thewater flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not theinlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at theinlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVELSENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen levelto give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What ismost important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch mustbe ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor forrinse and wash.Check thislink to replace the inlet valve:http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html Finallyafter the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to comein to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activatedso as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.Make surethat a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so checkthe command from the program module and then the executing device be it thevalve or motor or pump. Hoover nextra washing machine door wont lock / cycle start

sounds like the door lock mechanism. if this cannot signal it has engaged, to the board, no other function will work (you don't want the washer going with the door open, trust me :) )

Controller, door interlock and motor replaced. Unit comes on, but does not operate.

Hello Dave,

Welcome to FixYa.

Try this test I posted below and let me know what error you find...if any.

To begin the test program, press both the SCRUB WASH and DELICATE/ECONO wash program buttons at the same time

as you turn the unit on by pressing the ON/OFF button. Initially, the control unit version number will appear in the display

(e.g./ 20 = version 20, 21 = version 21, etc.).

When the wash program buttons are released, the LED's above them will begin flashing. To end the test program or test cycle, press the ON/OFF button.

To check the wash program LED, press its corresponding button.

To check the Cycle Countdown display, Refill Rinse Agent LED and REGULAR WASH button LED, press the REGULAR WASH button (press the DELAY START button to test the

Cycle Countdown display alone).

The Cycle Countdown display should show "88" when the DELAY START button is pressed and "8h" when the REGULAR WASH button is pressed.

To start the test cycle, press both the SCRUB WASH and DELICATE/ECONO buttons a second time.

When the test cycle has completed, the Cycle Countdown display will indicate a fault using the codes below. If a combination of faults exists, the code numbers will be added together, (e.g./ 6 = faults 2 + 4).

0 = No faults

1 = Aqua Sensor ("Sensotronic") fault

2 = Heating fault

4 = Filling fault
8 = NTC (temperature sensor) fault

email me at macmarkus@live.ca and I can send you via a "pdf" of the diagnostic/repair manual for your specific Bosch...provided it is indeed a SHU5316 unit.

I`ll watch for your reply. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

The wash time continues to increase on every cycle. I have a Maytag Neptune TL Washer.

Thank you my machine model number. The reason I ask is so many folks post non FAV6800A/FAV9800A issues in this forum. This forum doesn’t ask for machine model number and serial number. Here we go.

Does your machine seem to take longer than normal to fill with water?

Does the machine increase the time during the Spin Cycle of the Wash Cycle?

Are there any error codes to the LED display such as dC or uC?

Do you want to work toward a DIY fix? If not maybe we can get a solid feel for the issue that will help you in the decision process to bring in a repair company or replace.

So I can better understand the issue can you start a Quick Wash cycle with Soil and Spin settings set to lowest setting and if you could place a couple of bath towels in the wash basket for a load.

I want to see if the machine will go thru the Wash, Rinse and Spin cycle within the 27 to 29 min time of a Quick Wash cycle. I want to see if the machine is increasing Washer Cycle time in the Spin Cycle of the Wash Cycle.

You should enter the Rinse Cycle at the 20 min mark on the LED display.

You should enter the Spin Cycle at the 10 min mark on the LED display.

Watch the cycle and see if you have similar times as I do. Let me know if the washer has any off balance issues as it enters into the Spin Cycle…..Rich

Hoover HNL7166 'Start Delay' light flashing

Hoover (Nextra series) washing machines

The 'Start' & 'Pause' LED's will flash together to indicate the error code. You have to count the flashes within each 15 second period to get that error code. The start and the pause LED's will flash together at 1Hz (i.e 1 flash per second) within that 15 second time frame, then will continue and show again within another 15secs and so on.

1 Flash = Interlock fault
2 Flashes = Fill time-out
3 flashes = Drain time-out
4 flashes = Overfill fault presure pipe blocked
5 flashes = NTC error
6 flashes = faulty control board
7 flashes = Motor jammed
8 flashes = Tacho fault
9 flashes = Motor triac on module board
10 flashes = Prog Selector or wiring fault
