Question about Televison & Video
I am wondering if this new tv will only begin working after the 17th of febuary. can you help with any added suggestions on what to try. my old tv is still functioning, but is not a dtv. i am unable to get cable and satellite dish is not practicable for me at this time. right now the product is useless to me as the words '' no signal'' are the only thing on the screen.
I am happy to assist you! If you have a brand new television you need to look and see if it has a digital tuner. If is does and you do not have cable or satellite then according to your location you can pick up channels on a rabbit ear or regular antenna.
If you do not have a digital tuner on your tv set you must have a digital converter box to convert the old analog signal to digital since you are using a regular tv antenna. You will not get any signal unless you have an antenna.
Rabbit ears will pickup but according to you location and an outside antenna will do the same and the larger the better.
Hook up of the digital box is simple...in to the box from the antenna and out to the tv on the coaxial hookups on back of the box.
The signal is scheduled for Feb 17 but I have heard rumors of an extension

I am happy to help.
I don't have the model number of your tv so I will have to give generalized instruction.
From the tv menu make sure the tuning band is set to AIR or ANTENNA not Cable,
You will have to have a antenna connected to the tv, preferably an outdoor type, depending on how far you are from the broadcast tower you may be able to use Rabbitears.
From the tv menu do a Auto Channel Search, if any signals are within reach it should find them.
I have provided a link to a site with more information on antennas and direction they should face.
Let me know if this helps and if you need more assistance. Please rate this solution Lone99star
