Re: accessing the cd
Here's the link for the user manual;
Check page 2 - There is no CD recording device. A DVD burner drive is sold as a separate unit(page 47), the main camera unit has an internal hard disk drive, and the option of recording to an SD card.
check page 15 for details of the SD card option.
If what you want to do is access the internal hard drive, be aware that this would void the warranty, and is not recommended unless there is a fault with the unit. If this is the case, please post back with details.
Hope this helps :)

Unfortunately, only video and/or pictures from your (SD Memory) Card can be transferred (via the USB cable) to your computer. Video/pictures from a disk is not accessible to your computer. So, you may wish to try to playback the video (on the camcorder) with the output to a DVD recorder (using the AV cables from the camcorder to the DVD recorder or a VCR recorder). This assumes you have a DVD recorder (or VCR recorder) that will take the RGB input from the camcorder. Connect it up just like you're viewing the playback on a TV monitor.
Also had this problem with windows 7, Go in to "Devices and printers" If your camcorder is recognised there ie "Samsung Camcorder" Right click it you should be given a menu with several options choose "Browse files" then "CD Drive (*) intelli-studio" this opens the software installed on the camera, go down the list and find "setup_f" double click this and this should start the install process, it will probably tell you there is a newer version and ask you if you want install this select yes and hopefully this will then install the program , Hope this helps someone . I can't seem to find drivers, but something useful which someone told, that you'll need special software. "Windows XP comes with the MovieMaker for free. It is slow but you can use it to begin. It is under the Start -> All Programs -> Windows Movie Maker. Got it? great... First, did your camcorder come with a installation CD? Normally no drivers are needed but for some special camcorders it may happen, in such case you must have received the CD with the camcorder or go to panasonic's website and look for your camcorder model and get the drivers. All you have to do is plug the camcorder to your PC's firewire with your cable. Turn it on. If a special driver is needed then a window will pop up asking for the drivers, here's where you'll need the CD or downloaded drivers. If no drivers are needed, then another pop up window may open asking you what program do you want to use... select movie maker... If no window pops up... Just open movie maker as indicated above. In the left you have the tasks... select 'capture video from device'..... The you just have to playback the video in your camcorder and use the controls that will appear to start/stop recording in your PC. Videos are heavy, you'll need LOTs of space in your hard drive.... The rest.. is intuitive... after you have the videos in your PC you can do edition with this program... But as I said, it is too slow... I'd recommend you to get Sony Vegas... you can download a trial version and see..."
I have the same problem....someone please post solution!
I've tried systematically deleting each of the database type files on the Flip (while keeping a saved copy on my computer hard drive). This doesn't seem to help. I've just got one minute of video it will allow me to shoot!!!!!
Tough to say for sure with out giving me the model number. Some of these models have a 5 second record feature. It's never good to just open the door during recording or you could lose recording information. press record pause first and wait for it to complete it's processing time.
