The lid switch is my first thing to check. There are two wires going to this switch, jump these together and this will tell you if it is working. The clicking noise won't tell you for sure.

Next, you need a volt meter to see if power is getting to the motor, if so, you have a bad motor.

What would stop the washer in our LSE7806A from working?

Let's figure out what it's doing or not doing. From that, we can figure out how to make it do what it's SUPPOSED to do, or stop doing what it's NOT supposed to do.

First... since it was stored, we can pretty safely assume that it was deemed to be suitable for storage - actually functional - when it was put there. Why else would one store it?

So... tell us a little about what happens or doesn't happen. When you plug it in, connect the water, turn on the water, fill the machine with clothing, select a wash cycle, and turn it on... what happens? If NOTHING happens (the machine sits there dumb & silent), check the power outlet to be sure there's good power there. Plug a lamp into the outlet to prove it.

If it hums and clicks but doesn't release any water to fill the tub, doublecheck your water supply. Prove that water does indeed come out of the taps. Also check the little screens in the water connections to the washer - are they clogged full of dirt and sand? Wasp mud nests (from storage)? If all looks well, look closely at the water control solenoids inside the washer. Check power there, verify solenoid operation.

Next... if it fills but doesn't move, doesn't agitate, doesn't spin... check the motor. Verify power there, inspect the drive belt.

If all is well up to this point but it doesn't drain, inspect the belt again and look closely at the pump.

If it makes odd noises, look inside the back or bottom (or remove the top) and determine where those odd noises are coming from. You can track them down by ear (ears are marvelous directional finders for sounds) and hands and eyes.

If you find the absence of power anywhere except in the power cord, look to the washer's control head. Trace power through it (for this a multimeter or AC test light is a handy tool).

Keep us posted on what you're starting with and what you find.

Washer seems to cycle fine but the water will over fill

Hello, fill the washing machine with water and when the water is about 1/2 full of water, unplug the washers power cord from the wall outlet.if the water keeps flowing into the washing machine with the power cord pulled the "fill valve"(where the hot and cold hoses are attached to the washer) has mechanically stuck open and will have to be replaced. if the water shuts off when you remove it's power cord from the wall outlet, try plugging the washer in and out a couple more times and if the water stops each time the fill valve indicates as being good.

Thanks

Washer overflowed while filling for wash cycle.

A quick test to split up your possible trouble makers:
Let the washing machine fill with water and when the washer is about 1/2 full of water unplug the washers power cord from the wall outlet. If the water keeps flowing into the washing machine with the power cord pulled the fill valve ( where the hot and cold hoses are attached to your washer ) has mechanically stuck open and will have to be replaced. If the water shuts off when you remove it's power cord from the wall outlet, try plugging the washer in and out a couple more times and if the water stops each time the fill valve indicates as being good = on to the next trouble makers.
The water level control is responsible for shutting off the power to the fill valve and redirects the power to the timer to start the washing machine running once the correct water level has occurred. The WLC itself could be bad. The WLC uses a hose that the water level pushes air into to tell the WLC what the water level is inside the washing machine...the hose could be pinched, fallen off of the tub spout, has a pin hole, clogged up with calcium or soap curd and the WLC cannot "sense" or "tell" what is happening inside the washer.

Water fills the tub then nothing happens.

it does not aggitate? Thats the cycle that allows the water to wash the clothes. It may be broken, I have had that happen a couple times. I would take the aggitator off and see if the teeth in the groves are worn out, It happen's when used alot. Commen problem and easy to replace.

Washer will not turn on

You have some scale or something keeping the water fill valve open most likely. If it still tries to fill unplug the machine if it still tries to fill do the following. Remove the fill valve and disassemble it. If you see the dirt or rust flush it out when it looks clean reassemble it and before you attach the hoses put them in the washer and turn them on to flush out the lines then reattach hoses and try it.

If this helps you please rate me with as high a retign as possible. If not please restate your problem and help me understand better what trouble your having. Thnks for using fixya and good luck.

Washer fills with water - then nothing at all. Power in outlet

Check to see if lid switch is closing. Should at least hear a click from it when lid closes. Test it with a meter. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

get your screw driver and lets start.. first unplug the machine from the outlet, you have to access the water level sitch so remove the tab and there is the bandidt, knock him with the screw driver and if this not funcion replace it..good luck I dont tell you to check the thin hose in the water level sitch becouse you said its fill all right.
