It's parsed like a U.S. 800 number, but CID can be spoofed.

In most parts of the world, you can't. In the US, for example, the law states that the user must be able to change carriers and keep his/her phone number.

PLEASE, PLEASE try and help me...I can't tell you how much this would be appreciated. I have a Panasonic KTS4100 4 line phone (2 corded phones in our office, and one cordless). I have NO IDEA how to use...

Just in case you missed the manual:

There are 2 conditions you need to be aware of

1 No DSL on the line
2. Set the intercom extension of the second phone

By default, both have been assigned ext 11. The intercom uses the same frequencies as a DSL line to transmit, so that could be the noise you are hearing.

Page 23 tells you how to set the intercom extension, and the DSL warning is almost at the bottom of every page from 18-22.

How to turn off the keypad beep

For the 6.0 gig phones, the manual explains in the handset set-up how to turn the keypad beep on and off. I rather like it as it serves as an audible indicator that the key was hit. Otherwise it is possible to have missed a digit. Of course, you can see the number on the display, but who looks?

Hold music

I'm not sure what you currently have for music on hold but regardless this is a feature of the phone system, not the phone. You may have a built in tune or tone, or you could have an external music source connected to the phone system. First you need to know which type of Panasonic phone system you have and where it is located. The system part number should start with "KX-T" and unfortunately, knowing the part number of your phone does not help.
