Question about Sharp AL 1631 Copier
Problem H 4
Means low heat roller temperature - the heat roller is a part of the fuser unit, which fixes the toner to the page so it doesn't rub off. This can usually be solved by switching off at the mains for 30 seconds. If this doesn't work try using a "crop code". Put the machine in copy mode. Press # * C * (or # * Interrupt * on some machines) in quick succession. The display should change or go blank. Type in 14, then press start. If it asks are you sure, choose yes. The machine should then restart. If not, switch off and on again. This should clear the fault. If this still doesn't work you may need to replace the fuser.

Here is what worked for me.
You need to alternate pressing the clear button then one of the auto buttons until the display lights turn off.
First press the clear button (red letter “C” on the unit) then the auto button. (below the word auto there are 3 buttons. Press the one on the far left that has no other markings on it. This will only take 2 or 3 times back and forth.
When the display is blank enter the number 14 (like you were making 14 copies of something) then press the Green (start?) button. Let the copier warm up about 30 seconds and try making a copy.
It worked for me. Still having trouble call Sharp USA 630-378-3590 or Canada 905-568-7140. They were quick and helpful

the problem in your machine is on the drum unit there is a arching on the mc unit.located in the upper portion of the drum unit.if you have an old drum unit try to install it again just for testing.and check if ther is a dumping toner again.

You should have on the right side of the display panel a "C" key and on the far left side your "light" exposure key.
Press c-exposure-c-exposure the scree should go blank. using your key pad make the display show 24 then press your copy key. then make it show 7 the press your copy key. Press the C or CA key until the copier resets. The light should have gone off.

You can reset this indicator by pressing these keys in sequence:
Press "C" then press "Exposure Mode" then "C" again then "Exposure Mode" again.
Note that the Exposure Mode key is the far left key on the panel.
One you press these 4 keys in sequence the display should go blank. Then key in 24 as if to make 24 copies. Then press Print (Green Button)
Then key in 7 as if to make 7 copies.
Press print again. You should now get flashing 000.
Turn machine off then back on and the light should be gone.
Here it is in a short version:
C, far left, C, far left, 24, print, 7, print,
then power off and back on.
