Why wont i tunes recognize my i pod and sync my music to it

Your ipod may be corrupted and will need to be wiped and restored.
First of all try another lead to connect your ipod to pc.
Also look inside bottom of ipod to check no bent pins in ipod dock.
Also reinstall itunes incase of program corruption.
If still not working you will have to put ipod in disk mode.
Switch ipod off then switch hold button on and off then hold down centre putton and bottom pause button until TICK appears. You are in Disk mode.
Go to file explorer and right click your ipod if shown,Chose FORMAT then chose restore device defaults and restore. Once formatted open itunes and connect ipod with good lead.Ipod can now be restored from backup or a clean restore can be done

I reset my ipod touch but the screen appear with itunes icon and usb connector

Hello,

The OS (operating system) of your ipod is corrupt for one reason or the other. The ipod won't boot or start because the start-up file or necessary files needed to boot up the ipod are corrupt.

The solution to the problem is to re-installing the OS (operating system) of the ipod by restoring the ipod. To achieve this, you will be needs a USB cord for your ipod model and i-tunes installed on your computer. Once you have i-tunes installed on your computer and a USB cord, then the job will be done and your ipod will be back to normal again.

If you don't have i-tunes installed on your computer, go to www.apple.com
Click on i-tunes and download i-tunes for free, then install it on your computer. After installing and downloading i-tunes, follow the below steps:

Run the i-tune program on your computer
Connect the USB to your I-pod
Connect the other end to your computer
Wait a while for the computer to recognize and install the ipod, then read and follow instructions on the i-tune. It will ask you to restore your ipod.
But if the i-tunes doesn't recognize the ipod via your PC, press and hold the Power button and the home button for 5 to 10 seconds. Leave the power button and keep pressing the home button or vice-ver-sa till the restore option comes up.
Click on restore and follow instructions thereafter.

After the whole restore process, your i-pod will be back to normal again.

Note: Make sure you back up your ipod if the files on it are very important to you. Start by syncing your iPod with your computer. When you do this, the iPod management screen will appear. Midway down that screen there's a button that reads "Restore."

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Good luck.

if you just got this, then i could possibly be a defective one. if you got this a while go and it worked, then something on the ipod itself may be the cause. go to the place where you got it to get it checked out.

When i turn on the ipod it says to connect it to the computer and go to i tunes and restore

It is probably corrupted either itunes database or hdd clusters, so it's asking you to reset ipod to factory settings. Connect the device and click on it to select it in itunes.
you should get a screen like this. Select restore.

Ipod touch is disable

Try restoring the firmware, WARNING, this will wipe everything

Press and hold the power button to boot off the ipod, when it's off, press and hold both the home button and the power button for 10sec and release only the power button while continuing to hold the home button, this will put it into restore mode. Connect it to itunes and i tunes will restore the firmware wiping all data and that passcode.

I-touch

Try restoring it, plug your iPod into your computer and open up iTunes, select your iPod in the list to the left, then click the "Restore" button located right under the big picture of your iPod model. Restoring will take several minutes.

Hope this helps!

I tried doengradin it and i guess i messed up and now every time i switch on my ipod it says connect to i tunes i guess its stuck in recovery mode i tried restorin it but it says it cant(please read f

Try this: turn off your ipod, hold the home button, and plug it into itunes while still holding the home button until the itunes symbol appears with a cable under it. itunes should say "ipod found in restore mode". Restore your ipod to either a backup of that ipod if there is one, or set up a new ipod. (setting up a new ipod will fix any previous problem) (hopefully)

Ipod nano problem

hello blair,I Have my own I-pod so I hope this will re asure you. First I think you should restore your I tunes as long as your brother has your songs too. Then ask him to create a CD of all your songs, which is not hard at all. then take the CD and open I-Tunes. Place the CD into your hard drive and I-Tunes should pick up the CD. Then download the content of the CD onto I-Tunes. You Will Now have all your songs on I-Tunes like before. Now plug in your I-Pod and continue like It's the first time you have pluged in your i-pod! hope this helps! Rosebetts xxx
