Replacing hard drive

Well first of all does it have a Hard Drive or what they call the Solid State Drive (SSD) which looks like a wireless card or some type of circuit board?

Next thing is where is the drive located, no matter which type, where is it? On most systems the drive is on the bottom of the laptop, so all you have to do is remove the screws from the cover that houses the drive. Normally the cover will have the icon of 3 circular discs on it.

Sometimes the drive, no matter which type, will be located under the plamrest or keyboard, when means you have to take the unit apart to get to it.

OK, you're in luck.. I checked your manual and it says you have a 60GB SATA Hard Drive, but it did not say where it was located.

I need to reset the jumpers for my hard drive quit and i'm trying to install another HD and it reads no OS also will not let me install an Os either?

If you have installed the hard drive and it reads no OS, that means you have a blank hard drive. You need to install Windows on it.
If you took a hard drive out of your system and are replacing it with a new one, place the jumpers on the new one in the same location as they are on the old one.
Different hard drive brands use different jumper locations. When in doubt, the jumper location is printed on the front of the drive or, in the case of a Western Digital, is printed on the bottom of the drive right below the jumper posts.

Where is the location & how to remove the hard drive for toshiba satelite P15-S470

Hi,

The hard drive is located under the CD/DVD drive. Before you start taking apart the laptop, remove the battery and unplug the AC power.

1. You have to remove the CD/DVD drive. Turn the laptop over. Remove one screw right above the dive and slide the drive out of the laptop.
2. When the CD/DVD drive is removed, you'll see a metal plate. The metal plate is secured by 4 screws. Remove them and lift up the plate from the bay. The hard drive is located right under the plate.
3. After you remove the plate, you'll see the hard drive. The hard drive also secured by 4 screws. Remove the screws, slide the hard dire to disconnect it from the connector on the moterboard and lift it up.
4. You have to transfer the brackets from the old hard drive to a new hard drive. Also, if there is a foil shielding around the old hard drive, you'll have to transfer it to a new hard drive too.

Below is website with a picture guide on how to remove the hard drive>>>>

How to replace a hard drive in a Averatec 3200? Ken Weakland

After some research, I did locate the user manual for this notebook, the link is below. The manual provides a good deal of information, what it does not tell you is the location of the hard drive. Generally though, the hard drive is located on the bottom of the laptop, under one of the panels secured by screws. Also, generally, the hard drive is enclosed in a cradle with an adapter that connects the hard drive to the system board. To replace, you unplug the existing hard drive, remove the cradle and put the new drive in the cradle the plug it back in.

I hope that this puts you in the right direction to answer your question. Look at the manual, which will show you where many of the other components are located on the bottom of the notebook. This will help you narrow your search.

If you have any other questions about the process, please let me know.

How do I get the cover off so I can replace the hard in my Asus M70V.

If you are replacing both hard drives, there is the primary located near the battery, just to the right. There are two small phillips head screws under two rubber cover4s. Gently pry them off with a small standard screwdriver and you can see the screws. Then you can access the drive. The second drive is located under the large panel with the model number sticker on it, there are 6 phillips screws to remove and then lift the cover off. There is an indention on the cover near the battery compartment where you can pry it off.
