I have a magic chef furnace model #acd13-u60-4, 60,000 btu. When i turn on the furnace from the thermostat the unit lights up and the sound of the ignitor clicks for about 25 seconds What could be the problem? While there is already a little flame from the burners and then the furnace ignites then shuts back down to a low flame and continues to do the same steps then finally kicks in for a while. Sometimes when it finally kicks on i hear a boom and it opens the doors where the unit is located. I do smell gas sometimes for a little while so this is telling me that there is gas buildup at times. Need some help or suggestions.

SOURCE: Burner flame shuts off during use and then you smell gas

all ovens, when they reach temperature they go off and on to kip the temperature, but if you smell gas the oven ignitor needs replacing, the ignitor gets red hot to ignite the burner ,but when ignitor does not get hot enough, it will have a delayed, that's the reason you smell gas.

SOURCE: burners sometimes will not light

You can check the ignitors/wiring by switching

the output wires at the spark module. If the

front ones work & back ones stop working, change

out the module. If no change take a look at the

ignitor(remove screw on bottom to remove

ignitor), ignitor wire & ground wire by removing

the burners.

Possible Causes Of Continuous Sparking:
Defective spark wires.
Continuous high heat can cause spark wires to

degrade. Use volt/ohm meter to determine

continuity
of spark wires. Look for obvious cuts/ abrasions

or pinch points. A defective wire can allow
spark voltage to transfer through insulation to

ground prior to reaching spark electrode. Under
normal circumstances all igniters fi re together

and if the burner in question has found an

easier
ground path the spark will go there. It will

not, however, in most cases have found a

CONTINUOUS
ground path such as what the fl ame would

provide under normal circumstances. This will

cause
the spark module to re-ignite.

I have a magic chef furnace, armstrong series if the pilot light and ignightor both work but the burners wont light is it possible the thermocuppler bad?

The thermocouple keeps the pilot light on. If the flame blows out it shuts off the gas to the pilot lite only the board that has the igniter on it supplies power to open the main burner as long as the igniter is operating. Sounds like the gas valve is nor working.

Magic Chef HMCF7WI is the green light suppose to go off ?

I not 100% sure but believe this is the power light so it should remain on when the freezer calls for cooling and go off when satisfied. If the chest wont stay cold then it sounds like the stat is gone. If it is digital, there may be a power card issue but most chest freezers are run on a standard thermostat with the capillary running up into the base of the unit.

Furnace blower won't turn on

You may need to replace the sail switch. It senses the fan speed and when it connects the gas valve should open and furnace should fire up.

Suburban rv furnace.

The best thing to do for these units is replace the ignition module, on Ebay they are cheap usually. Clean all orifices where any pressure switches or tubing connects on the induced drafts assembly, Does the pilot ever light?

How do i wire the thermostat to the magic chef furnace

Inside the furnace there is either a transformer relay with the markings of R & W stamped near the terminals or T TH or a circuit board with terminals marked R and W. This is where your thermostat wires will connect to. At the thermostat, connect the R terminal to the wire connected to the R terminal at the furnace or T terminal at furnace. The other wire goes to the W terminal on the thermostat. This will give you heat

I have an old Magic chef furnace and need to replace the Fan Motor were can I find the fan spec for replacement? It was built in 1987 Model # G8A75DC10-17 Serial# A 10221CKA Forced Air Furnace Categorie I

magic chef furnaces were discontinued many years ago. Pull the motor and take it to your local motor shop. They will be able to match it. Furnace blower motors are pretty standard fractional horse motors.
