I have 2 remotes and one box. I can not get the second remote to work ..it will only let me watch what is on tv1. I have it set to dual viewing. My tv1 remote works sometimes I think it is inferring with...

pkermer,

It sounds like the receiver is in single mode (you said it was in dual mode) or shared viewing. With shared viewing disabled, you will not get a picture on TV 2, only TV 1. If you are not getting a picture (black screen) on TV 2, you should change the setting for Shared View on your receiver.

Make sure your receiver is in Single mode by pressing the Mode button on your receiver (should have only the green light lit on the front of the receiver and the single mode amber light). Press the Menu button on your remote to display the Main Menu on your TV 1. Press 6 (System Setup) and 2 (Shared View). Move the cursor to Enable Shared Viewing. Press Select on your remote (Enable View should have purple dot). Then press Done. Exit out of the other screens till you have a picture on your TV 1 screen. Make sure the receiver is in dual mode and then check to make sure you have a picture on TV 2.

If you have any more problems or questions, please let us know.

What settings do I use on d5000 to work with a remote control please help

Press the button to bring up the information display screen. Press the button to put the cursor into the information display screen. Use the cursor keys to select the release mode (fifth item from the top, along the right edge of the screen) and press OK. Select one of the two remote modes. The quick-response remote mode fires the shutter when you press the button on the remote. The delayed remote mode gives you two seconds to hide the remote behind your back.

Full details are in the "Release Mode" section of the manual (pages 65-69 in my copy).

Remote for box 1 is changing channels for remote 2 and remote 2 does not work

Are you getting the same picture on both TVs - TV 1 and TV 2? Depending on the receiver model, you have a mode button either on the front of the receiver or behind a door on the right side of the receiver. You also should have a green (TV 1), amber (mode), and blue (TV 2) lights on the receiver. If TV 2 is one, the blue light should be lit. The amber light should be lit under the dual mode. Press and release the mode button on the receiver to put the receiver in dual mode. The blue light (TV 2) should illuminate now and this will give you independent operation between the two TVs. I hope this helps.

My remote keeps freezing and i have to take the battery out to restart. Now when I put the battery in it says safe mode. What can I do now

Hi. If your remote is freezing all the time, the firmware probably needs to be updated. Doing this will also get the remote out of safe mode.

1- Click on 'Downloads' at the top of the screen in the software.
2- Click 'Firmware' and follow the steps to update the firmware on the remote.
3- Update the remote.

Hope that helps
