Cleaning the Print Heads from Your Computer

The print head cleaning function allows you to clear up clogged print head nozzle. Perform print head cleaning if printing is faint or a specific color fails to print, even though there is enough ink.

The procedure for cleaning the print head is as follows:
Cleaning

  1. Open the printer driver setup window

  2. Click Cleaning on the Maintenance tab

When the Print Head Cleaning dialog box opens, select the ink group for which cleaning is to be performed.
Click Initial Check Items to display the items you need to check before performing cleaning.

  3. Execute cleaning

Make sure that the machine is on and then click Execute.

    Print head cleaning starts.

  4. Complete cleaning

The Nozzle Check dialog box opens after the confirmation message.

  5. Check the results

To check whether the print quality has improved, click Print Check Pattern. To cancel the check process, click Cancel.

If cleaning the head once does not resolve the print head problem, clean it once more

Printer not working server. 110 exe

You mention the printer model as being Epson NX230 but you have not included anything about your computer's operating system and that could have an important bearing on resolving this situation - also as I do not have any idea where you reside, I can only suggest you do the following, which should resolve your problem.
Go to http://www.epson.com and select where you reside in the World as the first step. Then go to the Support area for downloads and download the drivers and other software (like Epson Print for example) and install them. In most cases, Epson will correctly identify your computer setup so that you go to the right area for drivers, etc. to suit your computer's operating system (like Windows XP, 7, 8 etc. or Mac) but it is still a good idea to find this out before you go to the website - as a safety precaution. If Windows, open Windows Explorer (Start - All Programs - Accessories and click on WE) then click on HELP in the menu at top of the screen and then on ABOUT and it will show you what OS you have and some other useful information.
You can simply use the download to update the drivers etc. for your printer but the best way to resolve any conflicts is to first remove the existing printer installation. Start - Control Panel - Devices & Printers - click with right mouse button on the icon for this printer and left click on Remove - or Delete - will depend on the OS you have but you should be able to see what to do. After removing - restart the computer, then download the drivers and install. That should resolve the problem. Of course, you need to have the printer OFF during the removal and do not switch On until told to so do during the re-installation routine.

No ink coming out of printer while printing

I use to have the same problem with my Lexmark printer. Maybe you should check to see if the ink became clogged. Just hold the ink cartridge over boiling water for about 4 minutes or so. Also are you sure the contacts and those things are not damaged?

Cleaning the Print Head

r_bullet.gifUsing the control panel buttons

If you find that the printout is unexpectedly faint or some dots are missing, you may be able to solve these problems by cleaning the print head, which ensures that the nozzles are delivering ink properly.

You can clean the print head from your computer using the Head Cleaning utility in the printer software or from this product itself by using the control panel buttons.

r_note.gifNote:r_space.gif

  • Print head cleaning uses both color and black inks. To avoid wasting ink, clean the print head only if the copy quality drops (for example, blurred printout, incorrect or missing color.)
r_space.gif
  • Use the nozzle check first to confirm that the print head needs to be cleaned. This saves ink.
r_space.gif
  • When the Error light is on and a message appears on the LCD panel to prompt you to replace the ink cartridge or to indicate the ink is low, you cannot clean the print head. In this case, replace the appropriate ink cartridge first.

Using the Head Cleaning utility

Refer to the appropriate section below to use the Head Cleaning utility.

For Windows

If the nozzle check page does not print satisfactorily, you may need to repeat the head cleaning and print the nozzle check pattern again. See Cleaning the Print Head.

r_note.gifNote:r_space.gif

  • If the copy quality has not improved after repeating this procedure four or five times, turn this product off and leave it alone overnight. Then, perform the nozzle check again and repeat the head cleaning if necessary.
r_space.gif
  • If the copy quality still has not improved, one or both of your ink cartridges may be old or damaged and may need to be replaced. To replace an ink cartridge before it is empty, see Replacing an Ink Cartridge. If the copy quality remains a problem after replacing the ink cartridges, contact your dealer.

  • To maintain good copy quality, we recommend copying a few pages at least once every month.

How to enlarge print? enlarge font? NX230

Any changes to font size, color, etc is controlled by the software in your computer, that you are creating or viewing the document in - if you are just viewing a document in something like Acrobat, you cannot change the type size- your only option is to "blow" up the output, but it might be bigger than what will fit on one page of printer paper

I have an wireless Epson NX 230 printer 32 bit printer with Win 7 operating sys Emachine 64 bit desktop. Printer driver process says operating system does not support the driver. Test page does not...

Officially MS says it's not support, and Epson does not have an updated driver. Sorry.
If I'm running a 64-bit version of Windows, do I need 64-bit drivers for my devices?

Yes, all hardware devices need 64-bit drivers to work on a 64-bit version of Windows. Drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows won't work on computers running 64-bit versions of Windows.

Description: This file contains the Epson Stylus NX230 Printer Driver v6.91. The Epson Status Monitor 3 is incorporated into this driver.

Compatible Systems: Windows 7 32-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows XP 32-bit

Print head for brother mfc420cn

Cleaning the print head
To ensure good print quality, the MFC will regularly clean the print
head. You can start the cleaning process manually if needed.
Clean the print head and ink cartridges if you get a horizontal line in
the text or graphics on your printed pages. You can clean Black only
or three colors at a time (Cyan/Yellow/Magenta), or all four colors at
once.
Cleaning the print head consumes ink. Cleaning too often uses ink
unnecessarily.
Caution
Do NOT touch the print head. Touching the print head may cause
permanent damage and may void the print head’s warranty.
1 Press Ink.
2 Press ▲ or ▼ to select Cleaning.
Press Menu/Set.
3 Press ▲ or ▼ to select Black, Color or All.
Press Menu/Set.
The MFC will clean the print head. When cleaning is finished,
the MFC will go back to standby mode automatically.
If you clean the print head at least five times and the print has
not improved, call Brother Customer Service

Hope that helps,

Take Care,

Michael
