Question about Ministry Of Sound MOSMP036 MP3 Player

Open Question

Mosmp036 not recognised on windows 7

While the player is recognised by the computer as an external hard drive, it is not being recognised by the Jockey software which synchronises music to the player ('could not recognise usb connection' & 'fail to connect device'). Is it possible to find a way around this or am I fighting a losing battle?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: mosmp036 problems

Follow the following steps:-
1. Create folders on your computer for the various types of music you wish to keep and put all your MP3 files into these folders.

2. Connect your MOSMPO36 to your computer USB. I find it connects more reliably if I also connect the charger to the player at the same time.

3. I am running on WIN2000 PRO but I assume that Vista has Windows Explorer or its equivalent. Go to this and create folders with the same names as in 1. above in the Removable Disk folder which is your player.

4. Copy your MP3 files from the folders on your computer to the folders of the same name on your player.

5. Open MOS Jukebox which I assume you have loaded into your computer. If you have not you must do so.

6. Click on Sync. When it has finished building the music library:-

7 Click file, click exit.

I do not bother with play lists so can not help you on those. I always play back from "Track" which puts all your MP3 tracks in alphabetical order irrespective of which folder they are in.

Do not try to store all your MP3 files/tracks on one folder. The
MOSMPO36 does not appear to like folders of more than about 2 Gigabytes.

Hope above is helpful.

My usb ports on my laptop only recognizes my phone and mp3 player and not my external hdd, it tells me to format the plug and play external hdd. It does not do this in all my usb ports though

Maybe the external hard drive is to large to be recognized by your computer. Some computers won't recognize real large external drives.

Another problem could be that your external hard drive does not support Windows 7.

Cannot get computer to recognize my simpletech external hard drive. I have windows 7

A problem I commonly have is if the external drive is plugged in to a non powered usb hub the unit does not have enough power and will not be recognised, ensure it is plugged directly into the pc tower or if you have a laptop try an alternate usb port as some may not be powered.

Win 7 can't recognise my iomega hard drive LPHD-UP with s/n 54bk506524

Install the driver of the external hard drive first before connecting it to your computer, or when an icon appears on the lower right side of your desktop, right click on it and try to repair it by using troubleshoot compatibility. Maybe, your hard drive doesn't work with windows 7. You can run it in older versions of Operating Systems even if you have windows 7 in it.

Go to Administrative Tools in Control Panel. Computer Management then Storage, Disk Management. You'll probably have to recognise it and assign a drive number.

Hello. I recently installed Windows 7 64bit Ultimate edition. I was initally unable to access my seagate external HDD. I tried to take ownership and played around with the permission settings to no avail...

It may be the USB chipset on the motherboard that needs a new 64bit driver downlod. I used Driver Detective to update my Intell chipset when I upgraded to 7 now all my external drives show up. Try using other USB ports on your computer first to force the computer to reload the driver for the new port.
