Question about LG LW1200ER Air Conditioner

Ruud Problems I have a Ruud Acheiver 90, I'm having some problems, the rollout (burner) limit switches are opening, and there is an electrical burning smell. It seems that sometimes the squirrel cage isn't kicking on, but when I reset manual limits and give the squirrel cage a manual turn, the heater runs fine, sometimes. I guess what I'm asking is: would the fan motor only work sometimes, would the ignition plug give off an electrical burning smell (it's lighting fine), there is a separate thermocoupling, it seems to be fine..... Filter is new.... Just wondering if the squirrel cage's start/run capaciter would be the cause.... IFC seems to be operating fine... All other systems seem to be operating fine... It's almost like the fan motor is getting stuck, and when it doesn't kick on, the limit opens up... Please Help.....

Ive seen this this year several times. first off take the combustion blowe loose from the ducting and look inside to see if theres any thing causing the blower to not run (water) what happens is that the flue gasses condense and run back into the blower then when it trys to start its binded.let me know if this does not solver the problem and we can get more into the furnance.

Furnace blowing cold air

Try pulling the rubber hose off the inducer power vent motor housing and pressure switch. Make sure the barbed fittings are clear of debri (with a small allen wrench) and the hose is clear. Re-attach & run test.
A limit might also be open...check the flame rollout limit center manual reset & press in.

The furnace will start and run for 5 mins and kick off. Then the burners will not reignite after that. However, after everything cools down (about a half and hour later) it will restart and run for...

Hello, sounds Like the Furnace is tuning off due to the limit switch or rollout switch opening. A limit switch and rollout switch are safety swtiches that will turn off the furnace if it gets to hot or the burners flames are abnormal. Usually a weak blower motor, dirty blower wheel , dirty burners or even a crack in the heat exchanger can cause this problem. Best bet is to call a hvac technician and have them check it out.

Where is the reset button on my ruud acheiver 90 airconditioner?

Should be a small button on the outside unit close to where the tubing is welded on the unit. This is a high pressure switch that trips if the unit gets hot , so be sure and check the coil for dirt , etc. The fan pulls air through the coil. If the outside of the coil is dirty it will trip the high pressure switch. Look under the fins, you will see the outside of the coil.

If you didn't reset the rollout switch, the air will not work. The rollout switches are in the furnace burner secton. Look at the burners, the rollout switch(es) are just above the burner. They will have a button on top to push for reset. These rollout switches will generally have two wires going to them.

Also my inducer does not come on

Problem: Draft inducer will not start, ignitor will not glow or gas valve will not open. Solution: Any combination of the above problem or problems could be caused by a bad furnace control board. I always troubleshoot and test the least expensive parts first, such as the pressure switch, limit switch and rollout switches to make sure they are all closed and operating correctly before I go to the control board. First, and most important things to remember is turn your electrical power off to the furnace. Most control boards are located in the blower compartment. Many control boards have a fuse located on them to protect the board from getting burned up if you have a short to ground. The fuse is usually a 3 to 5 amp fuse similar to the fuses that you might find in a car's fuse box.

My Blower runs 24/7 and the burner is not kicking on.... Is this a high limit switch issue?

It might be the high limit, but it could also be the roll out switch or the flame sensor. Start by ohming out the simple switches the high limit the rollout if the are good use a piece of light grit sand paper or some emery and clean the flame sensor. This is a rod that sits in the flame of the burner telling the gas valve the burners are lite and it is okay to keep the valve open.

Thanks for your question,
yup your fan motor is bad, if you need to manually start it each time then the motor winding are bad and it is not getting the air across the coils, which in turn are over heating, thus causing a burning smell, and then tripping your limits, you need to replace this motor ASAP, before it does cause a fire, if the limits ever fail !! I hope this was helpful for ya, if it was please give this a rating, thanks again,

Arcoair central heat /air conditioning unit

The blower motor kicks on when there has been a 24 volt control failure.

This usually means that a limit switch has tripped.

Most likely that would be a high temp limit switch or a rollout switch.

First, make sure the filters are clean. and the evap coil is clean. If eaither are dirty/clogged, it will partially block airflow, causing the furnace to overheat, causing the high temp limit to trip.

A rollout switch typically trips for three reasons.
1 flame rollout into the burner compartment due to poor airflow.
2 overheating af teh metal plate the rollout is mounted to, due to dirty, old, rusted components.
3 a bad limit switch.

If your unit has an LED light, count the flashes and it will hepl popint out the problem.
(locate the wiring diagram/flash code list, and correspond the flash count, with the code.)

First, check filters.
