best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Hello! I recently bought used Behringer

The red light means NOTHING regarding the battery condition... If battery is not new, try a new one.

I have seen several problems... some people get the cables backwards for input and output. The INPUT cable is what turns on the battery and it has to be a mono cable.

ANOTHER common problem with ABUSED pedals is that the jack used for external power adapter gets smashed at some point and cracks the circuit board near it. USUALLY the light will not come on when this happens.

Byond this, it probably requires repair. Some are easy to open and others are a bear to get the circuit board out... key is to NOT force very much when working on these.

Where can I get a schematic for the output section of the mixer on a behringer 1280s?

No hope. I have replied to this sort of question elsewhere but Behringer are very protective of their stuff and won't even let us have diagrams. Only Behringer service. If anyone has any Behringer service manuals / schematics we would love them

10w 22rj wire wound resistor

When thosse resistors (precharrging of main input filters) burn up there is major damage. The IGBT's are usually gone... replace with APT28GA60BD15... the switching regulator IR2153 is gone... one or more of the 2SA1020-Y and the 2SC2655-Y gate drivers are gone. One or both of the DL4148 speedup diodes for the IGBT gate drives will be gone. The Wirewound ceramic resistors either 10 or 22 ohm 10 watt radials... Use:
This is 20 ohms, however Behringer uses from 10 to 22 ohms in these units... 20 works fine as does 10 ohms. If you have toruble getting schematic let me know.

Here is the service manual schematics for your speakers:

Scroll doen to "get manual" and click on it to download the manual... Do not click on the other downloads at the site, they are for viewers you don't need.

Take the schematics to a COMPETENT electronic service technician to get units repaired. You obviously bought units that had been hacked before...

I have a Behringer pmp3000 and the right channel has quit working. I can get sound out of the right side my using the surround feature, but evidently the right amp is not sending a signal. Any ideas?

Yep! The power amp for that side has failed. There is a weakness of insulation in the multilayer board of some of these that causes the problem. If you haven't seen smoke, that is good. Depending on the revision level of the amp module, there will be two or three blown transistors and a Zener diode blown and possible arcing within layers of the board. The repair of the module takes great care and skill due to the arc damage which is internal on the multilayer board. The amp module is a HCA2400 and are rare costing about $160 and probably are out of stock at which is the Behringer parts distributor... I have waited 3 months for simple parts... I had one HCA2400 shipped to me but they had wrapped it so tight in bubble wrap that capacitors were peeled off the board and it had to be returned. They didn't know when they would get more... If you have seen smoke, then two other small transistors and a metering resistor have blown. Worst case is when the power supply gets wiped out as well... that ups the parts ante to about $50 as two expensive IGBT's also fail and a half dozen other parts as well.

I have repaired three of the HCA2400 modules and it takes many hours with dental drill to carve out the burned cancer and then re-insulate and put jumpers where the circuit traces used to be. It is NOT DIY for sure. Replacing the transistors requires a desoldering station. I have one unit that a hacker tried using solder wick and destroyed the board.

I have a behringer PMP 3000 mixer, on e of the channel is gone, it is not under warranty, can you tell me who can repair it ? what causes the channel to blow.

Often the A channel power output blows. CEASE using the unit immediately until repaired as continued use can have additional damage to power supply.

Any problem with speakers can blow the channel as there is real weak insulation on a multi-layer circuit board in the rear most amp (channel A). It burns and takes out three transistors on the HCA2400 module inside.

ALSO read my tip on here regarding a hazard of Behringer PMP units due to the channel A connection when using Speakon to 1/4 inch plugs or adapters having the BARREL being the hot lead instead of the TIP of the 1/4 inch plug. Short that barrel to ANY ground and goodbye channel A.

My behringer pmp3000 has circut board damage(some burnt spots) on the speakon connections board and the amplfiers board. it does not seem to power up(no lights). are these parts repairable or replaceable,...

i own and at this moment have a behringer opened up because of the same problem you have and ill tell you that 6 electronic shops and all the guys at the forum have not successfully fixed these mixers and its not that its difficult its a manufacturing design flaw in the second board at the output A and output B ports inside the mixer.this board which processes power output from the mixer console out to speakers cannot handle the dual 600 watts (1200 total watts) that is running through it and blows the main coils if you replace the coils it will blow when and if you hit a low/high frequency and it usually happens in the middle of a show when you up the bass or the highs which cause the main transformer/resistors to process too many watts to the coils, either the resistors or the coils blow so the guys at the music/electronics forum are exactly correct but you can get the main board for $44.00 at amazon or ebay so you wont have to spend time and money replacing resistors etc

No Power at all. Fuse blown-Burn smell from fan area.

You did a lot of damage, and replacing the fuse and trying it has caused much more.

There will be about seven blown parts on the amp and a dozen on the power supply. To give you an idea of the extent, the WHOLESALE parts cost is roughly $50, including the main power supply switchers IGBT's which cost nearly $20 for the pair by themselves.

I have repaired several of these and the larger cousin the PMP5000. It is a lot of skilled work to repair these.

The cause is a marginal insulation between layers of the multi-layer amplifier board. Usually the rearmost amp arcs between the layers. This fries three big switching transistors followed sometimes by a metering resistor and two small surface mounted transistors. A zener diode often goes. The cancer and burned area has to be ground out with a dental drill and new wire replaces the blown circuit traces.

If you are under warranty, take the unit for replacement.

The thing that can arc the amp is if speaker leads are marginal or get pulled out while under power. Excessive volume, especially pulses at high level can break down the insulaton causing the arc and failure. The black smoke is likely from the metering resistor.

I have Behringer pmp 2000 mixer but it burned my fuse. How can I buy it?

If the fuse blew do NOT replace it till the unit is serviced or you will burn up more components. These units will blow out from a minimum of three to 30 components when they blow.

There is weak insulation between layers of the power amp circuit board and the arcing destroys a minimum of three transistors and often many more components on the power supply board as well.

I have repaired several of these and it is a lot of work. The power amp module can be had for about $175 but it often takes out the power supply as well.

Blown fuse and replaced it and burned the amp

BIG problem! You should NOT have replaced the fuse as additional damage has been done. I repaired a PMP5000 and I can tell you likely what you will find: The smoke and smell came from two power resistors that are part of the soft start circuit that now are toast. You will likely find several components in the main portion of the power supply that are toast. These will include transistors, resistors, diodes, and probably the small 8 pin switching regulator chip. There is a small power supply that comes on first which enables a relay that shorts out those soft start resistors AFTER the power amplifier BALANCES and normalizes.
The unit I repaired had severe damage due to arc-over at one power amp section. Three power transistors were destroyed there and board traces and charring had to be handled in that section.
The repaired unit had to be brought up with a light bulb in series with the line power cord to prevent further damage until all bad parts were discovered and repaired. You will need to take the unit to a shop that is expperienced with the product. The repair cost MAY be pretty high.
