As I understood, you have some data in the hard disk drive, which seems to be corrupted. You are trying it to connect to your desktop PC via internal HDD cable or external USB HDD adapter

If there are any user defined TDLs defined in the Tally.ini file set Default Companies to NO start Tally and check.

If the problem persists
Increase the screen resolutions to 16 bit high color small fonts, Load Tally and check.

If the problem persists
Delete the printer drivers available in the Printer panel. Execute Tally. If this resolves the issue you can then re-install the printer drivers.

If the difficulty persists
After checking above-mentioned in case the difficulty persists please check the following.

Check for viruses in the system
Delete the Tally.sav file and check
Re-install Tally in a different folder and check
Disable the real time protection of the Anti Virus Software

Incase the problem persists please send an email to support@tallysolutions.com .

In case the problem is rectified when Default Companies is set to No in Tally.ini it indicates that the default company is corrupted. In such cases please follow the steps mentioned below

Take a backup of your company data
Execute Tally 9
From the Company Info Menu press Ctrl Alt R.
The Rewrite company screen is displayed. From the List of Companies screen select the Company in which you are facing the difficulty. The screen Rewrite Yes or No is displayed. Press Enter to re-write.

The error message indicates a data corruption. Please restore an earlier data backup which did not have this problem and proceed.

If you do not have the Backup then create a copy of the existing data and rewrite it by clicking Ctrl+Alt+R before selecting the Company.

Before rewriting ensure that the Company you wish to rewrite is not in use on any of the nodes and the command has to be applied before selecting the Company.

The data preferably should be available in the local hard disk. Ensure that you create a back up of the data in the the hard disk or a medium like CD.

How do I correct error code 2147483650?

To fix this, follow the steps below:
1. Back up your Tally data.
2. Make a new folder under the Data and then change the name of the folder with a 5-digit number such as 11111.
3. Copy the files below from the corrupted folder to your folder 11111.
Company.900, Linkmgr.900, Manager.900, Tranmgr.900 and Camsave.900
4. Click Start and then Run and then type the command C:\Tally.ERP9\tally.exe data 0.
5. Press Ctrl+Alt+R and click Yes to confirm. Wait until the process is done.
6. Exit Tally and re-open it to see if the problem has been resolved.
Alternatively, if the above steps didn't work for you, remove Tally and all its components completely. And then restart your computer and reinstall it again to replace all the corrupted files.

Backed up DVD copying from disk to hard drive, coming up with error -36 disk error, urgent job, need to rectify this. can you help

I assume that you have a Mac computer? Try the solution here at Apple

Other reason that may cause this error are a dirty or scratched DVD. Try cleaning. If it has scratches, you might try a commercial product, click here for list.

Also possible for a dirty DVD lens to cause the problem. Try the DVD disk in another computer

Did you test the back up before you put it in storage?

If you can not get disk to work, explain what happened to data loss on the hard drive. There may be other ways to get your data back.

One last note. I like you found out the hard way about backing up my data to what I thought was a secure manner. I was using a backup hard drive. Got a virus that not only corrupted my computer hard drive, but also made it way into back-up drive and corrupted the data there also. I had to end up sending my hard drives out to a shop to get data out and it was over $800 US.

Now I use an online back-up server. There are many to choose from and the prices are from free for small account, 2 gigs to $5-6 am month for unlimited. When you have time check out Mozy or Carbonite backup servers. There are many other too.

Alright, now it is time for you to rate this answer and leave me a comment if this worked for you. J

Thanks for using FixYa - a4 THUMBS rating and POSITIVE TESTIMONIAL is really appreciated for the FREE answering of your question.

SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk 0: st9100824as-(s1)) WARNING: Immediatelly back-up your data and replace you hard **** drive. A falure may be imminent. Press F1 to continue

Hi sqarrab,

A SMART Drive failure indicates that your hard disk is about to die. Sometimes it will last a few says, sometimes even months. Refer the link below for more information.

I suggest you keep a backup of all your data as soon as possible. Once the hard disk fails, there's nothing you can do to get your data back. To get rid of the message, buy a new hard drive, and then copy back all your data.

How to Take a Back up Of Tally 7.2

Open Tally, press Alt+F3-Company Info, you will see Back Up link. Select & enter required fields (drives) where you would like to take back up

Go to company information- click backup - you can take backup on floppy or on hard disk with proper path.
i.e make the backup (or any name) folder on suitable drive. But do not choose C: drive as you may forget when you are formatting the drive.
Then you can copy the same folder on CD to open any where.
