Kenmore gas dryer has heat, but very little...

what do you mean by a little heat?do you mean it will heat for the first 15 to 20 minutes and then no heat,if so you have bad gas coils, the coils will work normally until they heat up and then they fail, when they cool they will work again, also you could have a blocked vent line or the duct that the lint filter could be clogged with lint and has to be cleaned out.remove the vent line from the back of dryer,if it's long blow it out with a leaf blower, then remove the duct that the lint filter slides into and clean it out and vac out the cabinet that the motor is in,with a gas dryer you should do this once a year so your dryer runs good and you don't have a fire.hope this helps

WHIRLPOOL DUET DRYER-Line clogged with wet lint from daughter air drying all of her delicate heat shrinking clothing. Dryer quit heating all at once that is when I discovered all of the wet lint in the...

if your dryer does not seem to be drying the wet clothes, first check that it is generating heat. If not, check the vent to make sure it is clear.
If the dryer runs but fails to heat clothing, check the circuit breaker. Most dryers use so much electricity that their functions are divided between two breakers. If one has been tripped, that may be why the heating elements aren't functioning. If the dryer still isn't heating, unplug it and pull it away from the wall. There's a service access panel on the back that should be pried free. Inside, you'll find a small black strip of plastic with two blue wires attached. This is the heating fuse. A replacement part can be had for around $15, and takes a little less than 1 minute to swap out. It's unlikely that the heating element itself, which consists of a few metal coils, is broken. If the dryer still won't heat, you're better off getting a replacement dryer than repairing the old one

My four month old gas dryer is running, but without heat. I reset the breaker, and ensured the venting system is clear. I don't know if I need a repair person or a electrician first. (washer on same...

first off that's an electric dryer with the filter on top so all your parts are in the back of the dryer, unplug the dryer, remove the vent line and the rear panel,on the left you'll see the duct that the lint filter slides into and to the right down low you'll see a white peice with two wires going to it,that's the thermal fuse, when you read any part out with a meter you have to pull at least one wire off to get the correct reading, pull one of the wires off and check it for continuity,if it's open change it out,if it's good move to the right heater box and read out the heater and the thermostat on the box,the dryer is only 4 months old so i don't think it could be filled with lint but the vent line has been there and i would check this out, usually if the thermal fuse or if one of the t-stats go it's usually from bad air movement and over heating.if that vent line is a long run go outside and first make sure nothing is blocking the vent,if there's a screen or cage on it remove it then go back inside and i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line, just stick it into the vent line that you pulled off the back of the dryer and blow all the lint outside,i've seen birds nest blow out of the vents, hit it with short bursts at first so you don't pop the vent line if the block is real bad and once the air is pushing out you can hit it with 30 second blasts, also you can remove the duct that the lint filter slides into and check it,don't forget to remove the two screws on the top panel to get that out,if you don't clean out the vent line or wherever the block is the part that was bad will keep popping, the part is doing it's job telling you that the dryer is running to hot.good luck and if you need any more help let me know and if you don't have a meter buy one,it will be cheaper than changing out parts that still might be good.

My dryer is working, but it's not heating

pull the vent line off the back of dryer and see if it helps, also the duct that the lint filter slides into could be loaded with lint, when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?sounds like from what you said when you had the top off it worked better because you had better air movement with the top off.go out side and check the vent,if it's a long run from the back of the dryer to the outside vent i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line, you also need to vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is,if you have a shop vac blow off the motor and blow through the inside vent to clean out the heating duct and vac out the back of the drum, you should take it apart and clean it out once a year so the dryer will run correctly

when was the last time you cleaned it out,try running it with the vent line removed, you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is,if you have a shop vac put it on blow and blow off the motor and clean out the vent line and the outside vent,if the vent line is long i use a leaf blower to clean out the vent line, also is it gas or electric?next time send model number?if it's gas you could have bad gas coils, when they heat up they fail, clothes are warm at end of the dryer for 15 to 30 minutes and check to see if the flame is still lighting if not bad gas coils.hope this helps

Breaker trips but is ok now on low heat

First clean the vent in the machine and the wall. Try the machine one time not connected to the wall, see if it works better. Carefully tighten the wire connections at the breaker, including the white. It is possible for a breaker to get weak. Your motor may be wearing out.

Kenmore 64942300 Electric Dryer runs, no heat

This may seem too simple of an answer based on your extensive troubleshooting thus far, but the most common reason for cold air running of any electric dryer is a broken heater coil. This is simply a coil of wire that is heated to warm the air in the fan duct. These often overheat and break if the vent duct is blocked, too long, or has odd bends that can restrict flow. Recommend replacing heater coil and use smooth wall vent pipe. Avoid coil type flexible duct.
