SOURCE: Just got Panasonic Home Theater

What kind of TV do you have?
I have found one of the easiest ways to connect surround system is to connect all your accessories (ie. Wii, Cable Box, VCR, etc) to the TV.

Next find the AUDIO OUT on the TV and connect this to the TV or AUX input on the home theater.

Tune the Home theater to the Input that you connected the TV to. This should play the audio through the home theater for any input you tune the TV to.

Note: make sure to turn the TV volume all the way down otherwise there will be some distortion due to the delay between the TV and the home theater.

Good Luck,
Robert

How to plug my external speakers to my viera tv

This television only outputs digital audio called PCM / Dolby Digital, Fiber Optic so you may need an amplifier that has a digital in port (if the speakers are rca red and white cable plugs then the amplifier needs rca output ports). Then you would need to connect the amplifier to the speakers
. Unless the speakers have a digital in port which I am unsure on ,. The digital out audio port on your tv uses a fibre optic digital audio cable..
page 13 of the user manual shows this digital output port.

How can I hook a vizio soundbar 2.0 to a Panasonic t.v. Model number tc-p42c1

TV's generally have optical / toslink connections for their digital audio output. I'm assuming the sound bar has a coax digital input, in which case you will need an adapter module. I have seen these on eBay for around $15.

HDMI slot is absent in this tv. How can I adapt it to handle HDMI?

Yes, the Panasonic PT-50LC13 has a DVI port. There are DVI to HDMI adapters to handle the conversion. You will need an HDMI F to DVI-D M adapter (like this: http://www.amazon.com/Importer520-Plated-Female-DVI-D-Adaptor/dp/B0035B4LJM/ref=pd_sim_e_1 ). Alternatively, get an HDMI to DVI-D video cable (both male ends) of the appropriate length. You will need a separate cable for the audio. Make sure that your source has a separate analog audio output available and plug that into the DVI audio input (RCA R/L). If your source has a only digital audio output and the HDMI port, you could use a digital-to-analog audio converter to provide this audio. For example, this would work: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/gtv-digaud-2-aaud.jsp?prod_id=5279 .

Please note this will not handle the signal from most computers. They send a different signal then the TV can handle. Copy protected content (DRM) may not be correctly translated by the TV. Most Blu-ray movies require HDCP compliant TVs and monitors.

I hope this helps.

How do you connect tv audio from vizio wv26l through panasonic saht 680 surround sound?

The SAHT680 only has RCA analog audio inputs. I don't know the WV26l. However, there are a couple of possibilities based on other Vizio models. 1) The audio out is a headphone jack. Use a 3.5 mm M to RCA F/F adapter and then an RCA audio cable to the surround sound system. (You can also use a cable that has the 3.5 mm M and RCA M/M ends or a 3.5 mm F and RCA M/M adapter with a 3.5 mm audio cable.)
2) The audio output is a digital audio out. In that case, you need a digital to analog audio converter. There are a number of models available. One example is here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10423&cs_id=1042302&p_id=6884&seq=1&format=2 . You will also need the correct digital audio cable between the TV and the converter and the RCA audio cable between the converter and your SAHT680.

The manual for the SAHT680 is available from Panasonic here: service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SAHT680.pdf . See page 25 for the picture of the audio inputs.

I hope this helps.

(The only other option is to upgrade the main unit of the surround sound system to one with digital audio inputs if your TV only has digital audio out.)

Model ELCHW402 40" LCD

The TV has two audio out options: a digital audio out (coaxial) and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Both of these are just above the antenna in connector. The headphone jack is the top one.

For a sound system that uses RCA stereo plugs, get a 3.5 mm (M) to 2 red/white RCA F adapter at the headphone jack and use an RCA audio cable from the adapter to the sound system. Alternatively, you can use a 3.5 mm audio patch cable from the headphone jack and the 3.5 mm (F) to 2 RCA (M) adapter at the sound system. The TV speakers will probably be turned off automatically with this connection.

If your sound system has digital audio, get the digital audio cable. You will need to enter the menus to make this audio output active. See the Audio menu > SPDIF Type (PCM, Dolby or Auto).

I hope this helps.

I have a Panasonic TC-P50X1 and want to connect my laptop to it. What should I do?

If your laptop has a DVI or HDMI output, then the solution is as easy as buying a DVI to HDMI cable, or simply an HDMI cable, because your TV set uses HDMI as an input. If you have a Macbook, there are Displayport to HDMI cables/adapters available.

However, if your laptop only has VGA output, then you must buy a converter. Why? The VGA output available on almost any laptop is an analog signal. Buying simple cable adapters will not make your TV (which reads only digital signals) read the analog VGA signal.

I have a JVC DVD Player & VCR Model HR-XVC27U. It is hooked up to a Panasonic TV CT-32SL14J. I have Cable. With the JVC, I have lost any audio. If I record a VHS, I get picture, no audio. If I...

Shifting a heavy item, or anything really, can cause damage to either the cable or the port the cable is plugged into very easily.

I recommend replacing the audio cable, or trying an alternate audio output (you may be able to choose between RCA-style stereo audio output, digital PCM and digital optical.)

Similarly, the dvd player may be setup to output audio in a format that isn't matching what your AV receiver is expecting - again a variation of either stereo, digital rca or digital optical.

I hope that helps.

How can I connect Panasonic TH-37PX60U Flat panel plasma tv to my computer?

It will depend on your video output options on the computer. If you have HDMI output, just use an HDMI cable and an audio cable (this will need to be a 3.5 mm to RCA audio cable). If you have a DVI output, use a DVI to HDMI cable and the audio cable (or a DVI to HDMI adapter and either a DVI or HDMI cable depending on which side you want to put the adapter). If you only have VGA out from the computer, use a VGA to DVI adapter and the DVI to HDMI connection and the audio connection. (Theoretically this should work but each adapter will have some signal loss issues.)

Some graphics cards have a video output, S-video or Component video, which would also connect to your TV with the audio cable. (Read your cards manual for more information)

I hope this helps.

(For DVI to HDMI cables, you will need to check if you have a single link or dual link DVI output. The wrong cable may not work.)

I just bought the sc-pt660.Is there any way for me to hook my regular tv(not a flat screen or hdtv)or my time warner cable box to this to get sound from movies on tv.I dont see any audio in ports.thanks

You can use the PANASONIC AUX IN ports for your TV or CABLE BOX audio, unless you run the DIGITAL CABLE into the PANASONIC, this may be available on the CABLE BOX or your TV, my suggestion is if you use the Cable box to view TV then use the CABLE BOX AUDIO OUTPUTS, you would be better with the CABLE BOX digital output INTO YOUR panasonic, but if it is already being used take the AUDIO out analog connection from your cable box into your Panasonic AUX INPUTS, then set the Panasonic to AUX IN mode.

Problems connecting phillips tv to panasonic sc-pt660 home theate

I just bought a sc-pt660, I have a philips tv too, the TV only available output is digital coax but the home theater only has digital optical input, you may buy a digital coax to optical converter like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-Coaxial-Optical-Converter/dp/B0002J2MV4/ref=pd_cp_e_3?pf_rd_p=413863501&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000I98ZQY&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1BS8MKCZ1CWQR071S8RN

Alternativelly you can also use the headphone output that is near the side input in the TV and buy an RCA adapter like this one from radioshack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103225
