Can i run ps3 on marantz plasma - Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

should be a SQUARE input for the HDMI on it.

Some of these have a master power button on bottom or rear, larger square push switch, it may have got turned off from power there....

Video processing section circuit should be troubleshooted. Seek tech support.

Check to see if there are any software or firmware upgrades for your receiver and you PS3. This could be a handshaking issue that is easily corrected with an up grade.

Most plasma's to this day prevent the image from being burnt into the screen. I would say yes because it makes gameplay amazing, but to be honest look at your plasma's manual and see if there are any dangers to image's being burnt. If you hook up an HDMI cable and run HD you shouldn't have a problem.

I run my computer on my 61" Plasma as well as my television, PS3, and Xbox 360 and to this day i haven't had any problems.

Page 18 of the manual will walk you thru the audio setup. It has Digital auto, Digital, Analog auto, Analog. Once this is set you should be fine, if you still have an issue, post a comment and I will help you further. Hope this helps

Loop the ps3 through the tv and out to the receiver. You only need audio going to the receiver.

Are you getting any sound?

If your marantz amp is part of a home cinema system then depending how old it is will depend on if it will do it automatically.I have just bought a sony surround system and it detects the signal range ie it knows it is being transmitted in 5:1 surround.If you have an old system you may have to do this manually, this should not be diffecult there should be a sound setting.

Check the settings on your dvd player!. It might be set to PCM
instead of HDMI.

I assume that the Marantz has an Optical lead input. If so you should connect an digital optical lead directly between the PS3 and the Marantz receiver for the sound while keeping the HDMI lead to the projector for the picture. You will need to configure the PS3 to be outputting the sound to the optical output (done through the settings menu).
