If your TV has an HDMI input, and your external DVD player has one, then you can easily connect them.

How to get off blue screen

Check the TV by connecting it to an external antenna. If it works well with external antenna, check the input selection done after connecting the DVD player. Check whether Power to the DVD player is pluged in and it has been switched ON.

I have a cable TV connection, analogue, no hdmi, how do i connect dvd player and my other speakers to the TV?

You could purchase an "RF Modulator" box (a very small electronic box) which is designed for connecting DVD players to TVs which have only a coax cable input. The 'RF Modulator' box needs to also have the external audio connections ('RCA plugs) for diverting the audio signal to your external amplification (other stereo & speakers). These RF Modulators are found at most stores, and run $16 - $25.

Can not play my external hard drive (passport) through usb

Unfortunately these devices can only understand USB devices that are formatted to FAT32. Is your external disc formatted to this?

Also there maybe a problem in enough power going to the device. So its advisable to have an external powersource connected to the device.

Playing movies from external hard drive

Hi rox09
Well you can rip your DVD to any external drive using and third party DVD ripping software ,once you do that you will get a AVI,MPEG and any common fomats your DVD player supports

Inorder to play those files in your DVD player ,you need the check whether your DVD has a USB input port or else if you laptop or computer has a S-video out put and your TV has S-Video input ;you can play directly from your laptop/computer to the TV using a S-video Cable which is available in any Computer shop.
I hope this helps

Most laptop computers only include an output to connect an external monitor, not inputs for external sources, so the simple answer is no. If you want to be able to play DVD's on a laptop that doesn't have a DVD drive, then you can get an external USB drive and plug that in.

Hope this helps.
