Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
It has ruined 3 new games
You have what they call a hot spot which is caused when the laser is too close to the disk and burns them. It will not always damage the media but in 98% of cases it will. I suggest that you have the laser checked by a qualified technician and have replaced if necessary. It may just need to be readjusted to the correct settings. These can move with heat stress, Vibrations and many other factors.

a bad laser will not damaged cd's it just wont read them.
what causing the damage is a bent spindle or a move/missing brake/cd pad that helps the cd's from getting damaged.
i would suggest buying dvd scratch stopper kit
other ways of games getting damaged is moving the console when its spinning a cd. moving it from standing up to flat or just move it around while its on. bad idea.

This can be caused by a dirty laser in the drive. try cleaning the laser with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. If this does not fix the problem you will need to get the laser replaced. If it is still under warranty contact Micorsoft with this site: http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/LiveIDSignIn.aspx?redirectUrl=http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/registerdevice.aspx?step=repair

most resurface machines can resurface discs for up to 50 minutes. Take the game back to where you had it resurfaced and have them do it again and test the game before you take it home. (even if that means bringing your box to the store with you)!
