Question about Kenmore 75503 Stainless Steel Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

Burners will not light on Kenmore 79523

The regulator installed on the unit is a Maxitrol RV47NCL and is not what is depicted in the installation manual. I have changed the burner orifices and the burners will not light. I was unable to receive any technical help from Sears on this matter and do not see any way to modify the regulator. Any ideas?

My first question is: is any gas coming out of the jets at each burner? If there is no gas then the regulator is not right. Many of them are set for high input gas pressure. If the supply pressure is too low, they do not open up. Some have a fine adjustment screw on them that allows adjustment of the output to suit the input pressure. Did you happen to check the main house valve to see if gas is getting to the stove?

It takes several minutes for the igniter to light the GE cooktop burners.

Mike, do the flames look to be normal size once they do light or are they very small? You may have a bad regulator. The regulator is used to lower the incoming pressure to a safe level to prevent excessive flame size. It sounds as though the regulator is not working properly. However, if the flames are small or uneven levels, check the orifices directly below the caps or on the burner valves for any obstruction such as spillage or cleaner residues. You can replace the regulator with any brand that has a 1/2" in/out pipe thread. Most are available at a large hardware store.

Changed maxitrol regulator to lp to much pressure

If you only changed the gas regulator for use with LP (the regulator located at the connection of the gas service) then you still need to change the orifices for all burners, top and oven. Of course I assume this model can be converted for use with LP. Some models cannot. A new range that can be converted for LP typically includes the needed LP orifices. A card with the LP orifices is typically located at the gas regulator.

Maxitrol cv47clr

Usually to convert the regulator you remove the knob in the center of the regulator by pushing it in and turning it. Then remove knob and flip it over and re install it there should be Nat and L.P. markings on the knob. Hope this helps.

Convert maxitrol regulator#rv47cl natural to propane gas

Some gas ranges cannot be converted. If your model can be converted it normally requires flipping over the regulator diaphragm and also changing orifices for all burners, surface and oven. Most modern new appliances come with the LP orifices located on a card attached to the regulator.

Hi there.
Your maxitrol regulator specification is correct for natural gas use, the pressusre setting may be in minimum (3"wc) that's why the fryer does not fire-up or it may also be clogged.
Check also if the spring is sitting properly on top of the plunger.
Regards.

Gas stove burners will not light on click

Crack the line and see if you are getting gas to the stove first of all. If you are then the pressure regulator is either not set right or bad. Lots of times they do go bad if they sit up a while and no one bothered to cap off the regulator.

I can light any one of my 6 burners but only one at a time. If I try to light a second the first goes out and cannot light the new on e either.

I am not totally familiar with this manufacturer of equipment. But you problem sound like gas pressure to me. If the unit has a regulator it may be clogged or faulty. I would recomend cleaning any air holes on the regulator, if that does not help a new regulator will be needed. The regulator can be installed in the equipment or in the gas supply line. Hope this helps.

Kenmore 4 burner grill only lights 3 burners

Looks like your regulator is not venting properly to relieve the back pressure. The best thing you can do here is replace the regulator.
