Question about Sony VAIO VGN-NS240E/W Notebook
I need a Windows Vista operating system. I have a valid product key but do not have a disk for the OS. Any help would be appreciated.
Go to http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/w/microsoft_os/3317.2-3-microsoft-windows-vista-official-iso-download-links-digital-river.aspx
Scroll down and download Vista English. Then click the guide of A Clean Install of Windows Vista to make your own istall disk. You need a disk to burn to with at least 2GB storage

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

There should be a factory image on the HD when you try restarting it. Hold down the F8 key or F10 key while its rebooting this should start the recovery process you shouldnt need a windows disk.

Run diagnostics on the harddrive. if possible reseat the Hard drive, i.e take it out and put it back again. and then try installing the OS. remember you have to boot from the laptop to install OS. Hope you are doing it correctly
