The right answer is to remove the drain trap and clean it out.....if this trap is not accessible then you have a major carpentry issue to gain access. You can also try several gallons of boiling hot water to soften the crayons up.

SOURCE: drain clogged

Trish

What i believe you have done is puled the linkage and the drain remains clogged.

Here is the fix:

remove the two screws from the overfow chrome cover that has the drain handle

Slowly pull the wire linkage out and hopefully the plumb bob plug comes out if just the linkage wire comes out out wil have to use a coat hanger and flashlight to fish it out you now shoud get the drain to drain

once you remove the plug I am still not sure you can retrieve the sword. There is a tool that is T handled that you insert down into the drain hold that you turn counter clockwise and the chrome drain piece comes out

I highly recommend that you have someone handy ( has done plumbing) to do thispart because
it has to proberly reinstalled with plumbers putty to seal properly

Before you do the t handeld part try using a hemostat to grip the sword

SOURCE: clogged drain

there is plastic plug that is used to stop the drain, when you pull the handle.
seems like the chain is broken off the the drain plug. the drain plug is one way plug.
the only suggestion I have is to open the backwall or the ceiling to get to the drain pipe. then you have to open the drain in order to fix this problem.
there is no easy fix, since you can't get to the plug that is in the drain, and the more you pull, the tighter it gets.
I don't suggest try to push the plug down, it may clogged the drain somewhere else.

SOURCE: I have aKohler bath drain that seals/drains simply...

Toe tap stoppers remove by just gripping the stopper and unscrewing it. Once the stopper has been removed the hair will be usually caught on the crossbar underneath the stopper where it can be removed with needlenose pliers.
Spring type stoppers for drains are just about as notorious for being hair catchers. Once again there is nothing to stop the hair from leaving the tub.

You have a vent on the roof that may be clogged with debris or some solid object. You toilet works when this air vent is completely. Otherwise it will function like putting your finger over the end of a straw with water in it. The water won't drain out until you take your finger off it. This is essentially what is happening. You have a partial to a complete blockage.

I have a Kohler Overflow tub with a faceplate covering the screws that would allow me to get to the trip lever...the lever must be stuck "down" because the tub won't drain. How do I take off...

Hey, I think I've got the solution for your situation.

First off, you want to get a caulk remover and apply that on all the caulking between the tub and the faceplate. Let this soak for 20 minutes. Then you will want to take a utility knife to score around the edges of the faceplate between the faceplate and the tub. Be careful not to scratch the tub! When the caulking has been completely cut through all the way around the face plate, take putty knife and pry the faceplate from the side of the tub. Check out the lever, or see if it is just gunk build up on the filter. Either way I hope this helps, and good luck!

Both toilets and bath tubs are clogged.PLEASE help . its a crane but i dnt knw the model.

You have a main drain clog. The sinks are clogged too (run water and you will see it come up the tub). Is this a one floor house? Basement? You probably should call a plumber unless you are willing to take on the task of snaking it yourself. Sounds like you may have a house on a slab? (no basement)?
