Leaking aqua stop on Miele G646 SC plus dishwasher

The aqua stop fitting leaks. A new one costs 134 pounds, is it easy to fit? Can it be replaced with a standard 5 pound fill hose?

Clean gasket with clorox to remove any funk, and apply vasoline to gasket to improve seal. If you still have water leaking, you will need to replace the seal on the dishwasher. Should be able to order from an appliance parts dealer, or they may provide a univeral gasket that would fit your machine.

Hi - if i rember correctly on the sides front top panel is a plastic bung, pop this off and you would see the screws inside - oly problem is most of the later Mieles have torqx screws - anyway if you succeed the gently lift front & push backwards - the top will come off.

But the best ways is to empty the washer of water pull it away from the cabinets disconnect everything.

Lie the silly thing on its back on the bottom will be 4 screws normally this will drop the bottom panels & makes it easier for you to work on the machine.

According to the parts manual this would have a waterproof inlet valve system - typical design for Mieles.

JUST BE CAREFUL - Mieles are excellent machines, try not to damage other components - perhaps the leaks is coming from some other - Miele parts are as costly as the purchase prices.

Hope to see how you get on...

the big box on the tap end is called the aqua stop fitting. If it leaks around the tread make sure there is a washer in the big nut that screwas onto the tap. The tap might be old and not true on the fase. You could try some thread seal tape on the tap thread. good luck

I have a Miele dishwasher that has a small leak by the intake hose which is connected to the water supply. How can this part be repaired or must it be replaced

The inlet hose to a miele dishwasher has a box on the end of it, and a brass garden hose thread fitting on the end of it. Inside this brass fitting is a black rubber garden hose washer. I have never seen the hose break. Are you sure it is not leaking from the washer or maybe missing the washer altogether? It is expensive to get the hose replaced.. 200+ for the hose and 175 for the service call. the dishwasher has to come out and be turned on its side to replace it.

Hey Berni,
I've been having the same problem for quite sometime with my Touchtronic G 892 SC. It goes away if I open up the cabinet under the sink and wiggle the water inlet hose where it's connected to the dishwasher's "backflow" water inlet. I'm getting ready to disconnect the fitting and see if there's lime (or some other type) of buildup in the filter screen. I don't know what else it could be. I'll try to follow-up when finished with this task.

Dishwasher stops after 10 minutes inlet/drain light flashing

1. Air gap / Drain hoses
If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly.

If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher.

Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.

2. Broken belt
Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.

Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt, because it is probably too stretched out.

3. Pump
Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

4. Drain solenoid
Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful, you might have to replace the pump assembly.

5. Motor
If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.

Replace the motor if defective.

6. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).
