Building your own ladder golf set

Building your own set for ladder golf is relatively easy and shouldn't take you too long. So you can be up and running in just a few hours.

You are going to need is 1" PVC pipe cut into 6 12-inch pieces and 9 24-inch pieces. You are also going to need 6 elbow fitting, 6 t-fittings. For the balls you are going to need 24 solid golf balls (2 sets of 12 in 2 different colors) and about 28 feet of nylon rope.

To building the ladder to form the base take 4 of the elbow fittings and two t-fitting and the 6 24-inch pipes. Connect the pipes to the elbows and the T's so that they flat side of the T is facing down. There should be an empty socket facing up. When you are finished you should have a rectangle that is 4ft by 2ft with 2 upward facing sockets to hold the ladder.

Next you want to build the ladder. Start by taking one of the remaining 24-inch pipes and attaching an elbow fitting to each end. Then attach a 12-inch pipe to the other side of the elbow. At the other end of the 12 inch pipe you are going to attach a t-fitting, continuing along the plane of the 12-inch pipes attach 2 more 12-inch pipes and in the cross plane attach a 24-inch pipe. Repeat this for the bottom step of the ladder. After you have attached the last pipe fit the open ends into the base and there you have your three step ladder for playing.

To make the balls you are going to need a drill to drill a hole through the center of the 24 balls. After you have drilled the holes in the balls take your nylon rope and measure and cut it into 12 20-inch pieces. It is suggested that you burn the ends of the rope so that they don't fray. Stick the rope through the holes and tie a knot on either side of the ball so they don't move. Put one ball on each end of the rope. You are going to need 6 ropes with 2 balls on each.

Once you have finished making the balls you are ready to play! Some play with each player on their own ladder, if you want to play that way you can follow these instructions again to build a second ladder or you can just use one.

I just received a new Handyman No4 but I dont know to where to set the adjusting nut! Does the "horse shoe" fit inside the plastic in the nut or in front of it? The instructions provided are not...

I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to as a "horse shoe". However, you will find a wealth of information on exactly how to set up and tune your hand plane if you search google for "tuning a hand plane" There are videos and books that deal with the subject exhaustively. Here's a link to one.
In general, I have only used a variety of wooden and cast iron planes, and so I'm not familiar with a plastic adjusting mechanism. I hope these instructions will help you nevertheless...
Here's a complete set of instructions for the No. 4 smoothing plane, that includes a list of the terminology used to describe the plane's parts. If you can, please read that and provide a more detailed description of your problem. The cap iron needs to fit tightly against the plane iron (or blade), with the iron protruding just about 1/32 or 1/16 of an inch beyond the cap iron. Then these fit down over the adjusting lever or cam depending on the plane, and the lever cap adjustment screw should be adjusted so the lever cap snaps into place with some force, but still allows the iron to be adjusted slightly in and out with the adjustment screw. The main adjustment screw is usually beloew the iron at the rear of the frog, that wedge shaped piece of steel that supports the iron.(Some people release the lever cap tension before adjusting the iron, but with correct screw tension this should not be necessary.) I hope that helps and doesn't sound like jibberish.
Otherwise, you may find better instructions with a detailed search here,

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

I need a owners manual for a stanley 12-920 plane

I can't locate the instructions for your plane, but the instructions for the current models should answer most of your questions. See this link.
If that doesn't work for you, do a google search on "tuning a hand plane" and you'll find a wealth of information that should help you sort it out. There are also excellent books and articles available on the subject, with many views on how to properly set up your plane. I suggest you start with Taunton Press or Fine Woodworking magazine, and go from there. Your local library may have access to older article which will help you to set up and properly use this excellent tool.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

NEED HELP ASAP !!! The system is telling me that # 10860 you have exceed the maximum amount of downloads allotted to you by the administrator for the day. Okay none of the downloads worked x-plane...

It will be 24 hours before you can try a download again.

I suspect each time a download failed, it was an install failure. So, the download was attempted again and again until the maximum number of downloads was exhausted. As to why the installation failed, I don't know. Make sure your system patches are updated. You might install freeware WhoCrashed to see if it reveals any useful data. Have all your system info at hand if you call the game's tech support. You don't want to have to scramble for it.

Bear in mind that it may not be an error on your system. Rather, see if they are getting complaints as it may be their network or software. Hmm, they are selling x-plane 10.

How do I calibrate this with X Plane 9?

Calibrating Joystick Hardware
This is a step of vital importance that often gets left out. Keep in mind that X-Plane is capable of interfacing with most modern joysticks and pedals and such-forth. Some devices may send a signal from 0 to 1,000 when you move a given control from one limit to the opposite and another may send a signal (given the same movement of your hand or foot) from -6,000 to 3,992 or something. How is X-Plane to know what the limits are that your joystick will create? Easy! You tell it. You do this by clicking the button labeled "Calibrate Joystick Hardware" on this window. This tells X-Plane that you are next going to give it your full range of signals for every possible input you have. To do this, just move every one of your variable controls (that is, your sliders) through their full and complete range of motion. You can do this quite rapidly as X-Plane can log and remember all the different inputs at once. So, after you click the button labeled "Calibrate Joystick Hardware" move your stick or yoke from full right to full left deflection, from full back to full forwards. Do the same thing for any engine controls you may have, like throttles or propellers.
