Re: Sony Vaio VGN-BX540B Screen Resolution

You should be able to get a resolution of 1280x800 for a standard screen size of 15.4" The 1280x1024 will be more for a large screen high definition lcd tv when connected, which you will then find will become available to use as a screen size, although only through a dvi connection to the tv as a normal vga connector will only give a maximum screen size of 1024x768.

Reinstall window 7 for sony vaio VGN-NR430E

Instead of trying to reinstall try a Repair. When windows boots up hit the F8 key and select the option you want.
Sometimes just going into SAFE mode and doing repair options (like anti virus and Malware scanning) can help.
Suggest Malwarebytes be installed on EVERY computer and do monthly scans.

Sony vgn-bx540b bios master password

If you are not the one who set up the Bios password, your options are to keep guessing or reset the cmos.

To reset the cmos, open your laptop and look for a small, silver, circular battery. Make sure everything is unplugged and remove the battery. Then, simply place the battery back into the computer. This should reset the bios and allow you to access it.

Hope this helps!

I have problem with vgn-bx540b model sony bios password unlock plz tel me how i unlock my sony laptop plzzzzz tel me how i remove bios password

Welcome to FixYa!

Are you the one who set up the BIOS password? If not, unfortunately, there's no way for us to retrieved the password. The only way you can reset the password to default settings is to reseat the CMOS battery on the motherboard, its a circular thing that looks like a battery of a watch, sometimes a pin hold it, just detached it then wait for at least 30 minutes then connect it back again,

Note: Before you reseat the CMOS battery, make sure that everything is unplugged on the computer, like AC adapter, battery and all external devices...

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

Scroll pad not scrolling on my vaio e series laptop

The computer model VGN-BX540B is shipped with XP OS. Follow the steps mentioned on below link to check of the scroll function of the touchpad is enabled.

If it is enabled and still the scroll is not working, reinstall the touchpad driver and check: Dowload the touchpad driver from the below link:(XP)

If you have upgraded the OS to Vista, Follow the steps mentioned on below link to check of the scroll function of the touchpad is enabled.

If it is enabled and still the scroll is not working, the issue is most likely to the limitation of the driver which will not work in Vista environment.
At this point what I will suggest is to download and install the Touchpad driver for different model with Vista OS installed in it.

As Sony has a model check code for all the drivers, use Universal Extractor to extract the setup file and run it. This will work.

Screen and taskbar problem

You might try adjusting the screen resolution.
right click on the screen, go to properties, then settings.
Adjust the resolution slider bar to the right, or to a higher setting, and see if that helps?
