Can't get Latitude D630 to go into safemode because of FBI virus

It looks like you may have to go about it differently.
If you press F8 and go onto the DOS menu, you will be able to access an earlier time by choosing the restore option. The viru is a windows based virus and will not affect the menu. If you cannot access the menu, I would download Symantecs' Norton Antivirus, and run that.

How to bypass Windows password for dell inspiron D630

If you're talking about the Windows Password for a user account try this: Turn the laptop off then turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see an option for SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode option and let the computer boot up. When it gets to the login screen it will show you the Administrator account and the account for the user that you don't know the password. Select the Administrator account and hopefully it's not password protected. When you get into the windows desktop click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts. Under user accounts select the user for which you don't know the password then select the option to Remove Password. Click OK and reboot the machine.

1. Disconnect all external devices (printers, USB hubs, USB drives, etc...) and
then boot up. If this corrects the issue then add the devices back one at a time until you
discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any updated drivers or software for the device.
2. Use the"Last known good configuration" from the Windows Advanced Options menu. If this option resolves the issue then look for any updates or software installs
that may have caused the problem.
3. Boot to Safe Mode from the Windows Advanced Options menu.If you can get into safe mode then the issue could be driver or software related. From within Safe Mode run a System Restore.
4. Perform a Clean Boot as needed

Can you boot in a Safe Mode with no problem? If you can try to use System Restore to return Laptop to previous state. Go Start----->All Programs------>Accessories----->System Tools-----> System Restore It's easy to use and it may return your system to time when it worked properly. Good Luck!

My school laptop is messed up

First, see if you can't boot to the F12 menu and run diagnostcs on the hard drive. (At Dell screen press F12, then use arrow keys to select diagnostics) if the hard drive fails diagnostics, yhou are done, and will need to replace the hard drive. If under warranty call Dell for a replacement, if not, then buy a replacment.

If the hard drive passes diagnostics, then boot to the XP CD, press R to enter recovery console when prompted, once at a C:\windows prompt, type the command CHKDSK /R and then let the too run. Once it finishes, try booting to windows again.

If that fails to get you into Windows, then your next step is a repair resintall by booting to the XP CD, and select the installation option to repair previous installation.

Dell keystroke delay

This type of thing usually happens because the computer is doing other things such as accessing the harddrive or or any other number of things. You can test this by booting into safe mode and see how well your keyboard responds. You will probably find it works fine there. You will need to isolate what other activity is slowing your computer down in the normal mode.

If this helps can you rate this as fixya.
