American Telecom cordless answering machine w/3 ext. #RA2184BB
I just opened the box to my cordless telephone and answering machine with 3 extensions. I followed the directions to charge the batteries for 24 hours. The red light was still on, and the bateries did not charge.
Would you please replace the 8 AAA rechargable batteries so that I may use my new phone?

You don't have a telephone line connected. The line may be broken. Or you may have taken the battery out and replaced it. It will not recognize the phone connection untill it is replaced in the main base cradle. This reconnects the phone.

I guess they are almost out of the business.
If you have the box please bring it back to reseller and get your money back. I had the same problem than you!
Open your TalkSwitch Management Software. Go to Local Extensions/Fax Select the extension you are using for the fax. Click on additional settings under the activate extensions section On the direct Line Access Tab put a check mark in the check box for "Use Direct Line Access on:" Select your Hunt Group or the number you have to dial to get an outside line. This will force this extension to not have to dial 9 or whatever number to get an outside line for dialing out.
