Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Kindly Check if the memory card is password protected, if it so then unlock it first. then try format in phone if wont works then try using computer / laptop . Backup data if need in it first then using direct format by right click the memory card on my computer on windows system then click format. Another method is try using HP disk formatter software.link:

Memory dose not format

Please try the card on another PC if the card is not detected in your PC and if the card cannot be formated then check and see if the tiny LOCK on the side of the card- to protect erase- is put to ON. If so reset and if this wont work still the card is faulty.

Kodak z1085 is telling me my memory card is protected. How do I fix it so I can use it?

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked/protected", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Others include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Memory card

there is a switch on the side of some cards. If it is a software memory protect than u need the program.
Otherwise u can do it by wiping everything off it with a reformat. make sure us are using the same format as is there (probably FAT16).
If that doesn't work get a partition manager program and delete and reinstall the partition and format is - make sure u get the RIGHT format
