My Logitech Z130 speakers suddenly stopped working, Missing driver

Yesterday, they suddenly stopped working, the green light was on but it said they weren't connected to the computer, I looked into control panel to find that they are unrecognized for some reason and to make them work again i would need to reinstall the driver, I have no box or discs that came with the speakers and a driver could not be automatically found, when I searched manually I had no idea what the driver would be called so I couldn't find anything of use, I need some way of obtaining the driver for the speakers, and that should make them work again, If nobody can tell me how to get the driver, could somebody please atleast let me know what it's called?

SOURCE: My computer wont detect my speakers!!!!!

Applogies for whoever the idiot is on other sarcastic solution, as it rears it's ugly head every now and then. The problem won't be your speakers, but the sound or audio driver. if you post your pc or notebook details and operating system back here, I will try to point you in the right direction.

SOURCE: logitech z560 set up help

The 4 satilite speakers are all the same. You can get new speaker wire at the local Radio Shck or electronics store. They just recomend an 18 gauge wire. When you wire them the red terminal on the speaker is hooked to the red terminal of the sub woofer speaker. On the back of you volume controller there is a place to plug in the wires from your sound card or motherboard. One cable will do the front speakers and another one will do the rear speakers.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: no sound

FOR MACS... Last February(08) I bought the V20 Logitech speakers for my Apple iBook laptop. I got them to work. Hadn't used them for about a year and had forgotten how to get the sound to emerge. I went to System Preferences. Clicked on Sound. I had plugged in the USB. Didn't show up. Unplugged it and plugged in again and there it was! I clicked on it and the sound came through immediately. So wait to plug in the speakers until you have opened Sound. (And Pandora (superb Internet radio station) is playing flawlessly.) I am not familiar with PCs. Sorry.

SOURCE: Right speaker doesn't work

I had this very same problem and I had my system for about 2 weeks. I have seen a lot of similar posts on this site so it seems that this problems happens a lot. For some reason my right speaker just stopped working so i came to this site for help. I looked at alot of posts and nothing fixed the problem. when i switched the right speaker to the left input it started to work so I knew the speakers were fine. So i finally decided to unplug everything and restart my laptop. Once my laptop rebooted I plugged the sub back into the wall after about a minute of it being not plugged in. Then I plugged all the the wires and volume control back into the sub and turned the switch back on. Make sure the volume control is down when you plug everything back in. Then plug the wire into the device, which in my case was a laptop, and start to play some tunes. Right away everything was working perfectly fine again and no problems ever since...for me atleast.

HOPE THIS HELPS

SOURCE: Logitech Z-5450 5.1 surround sound speakers - no sound from rear right only

Unfortunately I have the same problem. As an electronic engineer I suspect that the power supply part of the unit is damaged. I opened up the module (don' t try it, its a little bit tricky since there is a type of glue around the silver bezel, after you remove the 4 screws from the front holes) and did some quick static measurements with a multimeter, so far no luck. Since I am still in warranty I will try to replace the item. Hint: protect your electronic equipment with ups or surge protection devices.

Connect the cable coming off of the z130 speakers to the GREEN port in the back of the computer. There should be 3 ports all there together(see below). The GREEN one is the one for your audio speakers. c1bb1df7-b62a-40ab-a588-fe9f02f1fe07.jpg

I have the Logitech Z130 speakers, and the left speaker does not emit any sound. Is this perhaps due to bad connections inside the speaker? If so, how do I open the case?

could also be a damaged wire, check that first by "feeling up" the wires, does it feel cut or interrupted somewhere? if not, you can open the speakers by lifting or prying out the rubber cushions on the bottom side and removing the screws. Remember this voids your warranty, if it's still applicable.
