Sounds like either a bad head gasket, cracked head, or block. Also you may want to go to a shop and have them check the transmission and radiator coolant lines. You could have trans fluid getting into your coolant.

Knocking noise on my 2001 grand cherokee caused by overheaing

check your transmission level fluid and engine oil level. might be leaking and need some refill. make sure that your thermostat is working or maybe not, check your fan if it is spinning in the right time which your coolant temperature sender sense a very high temperature. or get the lowest temp sender sensor rating.

when are you overheaing? highway or around town check electric fan operation radiator could be pluged when the waterpump and thermostat were done was the block bleed properly some cars have have a coolant bleeding proceedure

My 1993 Cadillac STS , keeps overheaing , why ?

clogged radiator. over flow tank cracked or to full. thermostat not opening at 190 not kicking on. check relays. also check coolant temp sensor and temp sending unit. unplugg the coolant temp sensor it should kick on the fans instantly and illuminate the service engin soon light. do u have a digital cluster? if it is saying stop engin temp replace the temp sending unit. located on the back of the rear valve cover were the spark pluggs are closest to the driver side area
