The same happened with my
ALBA 17 inch TV/DVD player...
i just kinda hit it and went at it with a knife and ripped the DVD tray out..... Probably not your best idea.... but it worked???
:D
Tom...
I'm not shure with this device but mostly the players have a way to open the tray even when not connected to the mains.
On the bottom there is usually an "open the tray hole" its an opening in the bottom just beneeth the dvd player, sometimes covered with a sticker of some kind. When you open up "the hole" you should be able, using a small screwdriver, pen, or whatever, to help the mechanism by sliding a small pin left or right. Just try moving / sliding something with the screwdriver or pen . You'll find that it goes verry easy, don't use excessive force ! This way you can open the tray even when power is off..
I have same model, same problem.
I did the same thing- I wrestled the tray open with a screwdriver (and marred it) and was genuinely rough with it. I figured I broke it. Shocked to find that afterwards it worked as before. I'm sure I'll be buying a new one soon but for what it's worth- I have a few more plays at least!
