The official 3D kit is composed of these parts
Mitsubishi 3DA-1 Converter box and remote
Mitsubishi IR emitter Model SSG-2100ME/ZA
Mitsubishi Active shutter 3D glasses Model SSG-2100MG/ZA
As you can see the IR emitter is mandatory. But that's not the problem, the glasses are.
To put it simply the glasses are the wrong model - they a completely different series, they were designed to work with plasma and LCD tv's that are already 3D(not standard projection ones), no other components necessary. Because of that it's very probable that they will not work with the other components. But the only way to know for sure it to buy the emitter and try them on.
