You may have a bad RCA cable connecting it to them receiver/amp. Another possibility is that the power to the CD Player (If not polarized) need to be flipped. Good luck and be careful!

Check your RCA cables to make sure that they are not dirty, tarnished or not completely plugged in. Also, try switching to different (working!) RCA cables to see if that fixes the noise problem. Good luck!

If you got the stereo used the speaker wires might not work. I stereo only puts out sound thru the RCA output using an amplifier.

Sounds like a problem in the speakers' internal power supply, maybe a faulty capacitor. Speakers need to be looked at by a technician, or replaced with a new set.

I have the Emerson Model MS3105. A couple years ago I connected FOUR speakers to it (for surround-sound) even though its only allowed two. After a day of using it like that, it only made a loud humming....

It sounds like the Amplifier has been overloaded by the four speakers. It could be an easy fix depending on how it has failed and if you have the Technical ability to have a look at it yourself.

If you think you want to have a look into it yourself then I'll try and talk you through it.

I have a Harman Kardon HD750 CD-player for about 5 years. Since a few months, I have a definite 'hum' on the right channel. Even when disconnected from all other equipment and just listening by...

Hello

As hum is heard through its left channel winle playing CD only denotes that it origin is from the preamp: side of the circuit itself. If power ampifier has the trouble, the hum will be heard even when the CD player is not playing. When CD player switches on, the preamp: section gets the working voltage, and starts working, while it will be in dead condition when CD stops. So you shoud check all the smoothing capacitors of that side; I advice you to change all of them, since it is difficult to detect the faulty, if you haven't a multimeter which can mesaure capacitance. This must solve your problem. OK.

You need an earthing isolation unit. I'm not sure how it works but that's what you need.

Ilo DVDR05 Vibration and loud humming noise

i experienced that problem before.one cause is the cd itself.there cd's that are too thick so the motor has hard time rotating that makes vibrating sound.the other ,don't put something over your unit.the cover is touching the holder of the cd and makes a sound.just do the necessary things to be done like don't put something on top your unit.if not, then a manual analysis of the tech is the last option.

Humming from speakers when CD player running

Yes, The humming is always there you just can hear it better when the cd is playing. The humming is caused by the electrical system in your car. There is an inline filter you can buy and insert it between the car's power source and the head unit. I had a head unit I bought that was absolutly terrible until I installed that filter. Also if you did a do it yourself job on your amp wiring it is usually best practice to run your RCA cables on the opposite side of the car as your power cable. You can also purchase shielded spark plug wires which is a source of noise usually of a different kind tho. First make sure you have a good ground. This means that you have grounded your amp to bare metal not painted metal. If that didn't work put in the inline filter on the head deck as they are only $20 available at radioshack. If that doesn't work, go back an wire your car right this time and put the power and RCA on opposite sides of the car. If you still have that hum it may be the spark plug wires but that sounds more like static than hum. You have a text book case of alternator hum... Hack
