Data Recovery (possible) from faulty hard drives

DAMAGED HARD DRIVE - DATA RECOVERY

Data recovery from faulty hard drives is difficult and can be costly. There is no guarentee that you can recover data from a faulty hard drive.
If the hard drive makes a clicking noise the the hard drive is dead.

First thing to try, is to remove the damaged hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and then plug this adapter into a working computer's USB port. If this computer sees this hard drive as an USB mass storage device (external hard drive) and you can open the various folders and files, then I would backup your data.
If the hard drive is not detected then the hard drive is dead and data cannot be retrieved with this method.

Retrieving data from damaged hard disk is possible. There are companies that can remove the disk platters from the damaged hard drive and with special equipment may be able to recover your data, but it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services. The reason for this high cost, they dismantle and remove the platters in the hard drive in a clean room environment and set up the platters up in jig/drive to retrieve/copy the data.

What is a abs modular on a Escalade Cadillac?

Jesse, The module will not stop fluid to rear brakes, a bad master cylinder will,leaking lines, air in brake system, faulty metering block if equipped, collapsed flex lines or pinched brake line faulty caliper or brake cylinders,etc. will cause the possible feeling of no rear brakes.
(ABS Module components) the ABS speed sensors and the ABS control module . When the brake is applied, the ABS control module reads the speed data from the speed sensor and sends the correct pressure to each wheel to prevent any wheel lock up, eg. sliding/skidding Links below have more info.

I have an ESP problem in my Mercedes Benz C220 CDI, 2008 and the problem is an ESP CURRENTLY unavailable. Cruise controls and speedtronic inoperative

It is usually a ABS wheel speed sensor has gone faulty, but you would have to have electronic diagnostic done to read off a fault code (DTC) and maybe a live data scan . Hope this helps

Wheel speed sensors

lift the car off the ground remove tires, unclip the electrical wires, hook up an ohm meter to the wires leading to the wheel, spin the rotor, if the sensor is good you will see a pulse, your numbers will rise and fall as you turn the wheel if it does not do this it is faulty. here is a video for better clarification. sorry the camera isn't that great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Apq6rgfKvIY hope this helps

2001 Acura mdx abs light stays on. Code reads 04?

I think you pulled the code incorrectly, or are reading it wrong. To get code:
1. Jump pins 4 & 9 on OD2 connector.
2. Turn key 2 clicks.
3. ABS light should blink to give you code. (long blinks for first digit, short ones for second. Example: One long blink and three short blinks would be 13).
Honda ABS trouble codes list :
11= Right front wheel sensor (open/short to body ground/short to power)
12= Faulty right front wheel sensor pulse signal
13= Left front wheel sensor (open/short to body ground/short to power)
14= Faulty left front wheel sensor pulse signal
15= Right rear wheel sensor (open/short to body ground/short to power)
16= Faulty right rear wheel sensor pulse signal
17= Left rear wheel sensor (open/short to body ground/short to power)
18= Faulty left rear wheel sensor pulse signal
21= Continous Operation (chipped pulser)
31-38 are all the same: "solenoid"
51= Motor lock
52= Motor stuck off
53= Motor stuck on
54= Main realy stuck off
61= Ignition voltage
81= CPU (central processing unit)

I dropped my fantom 500GB external hard drive (#TBD500C16). Now it no longer is visible on MyComputer... It makes some humming noises for a minute or so,,, then becomes silent. Is there anyway to...

The hard drive is faulty and we mortals cannot retrieve data from a faulty hard drive.
There are companies that can retrieve data from a faulty hard drive BUT it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services.
If future with these external hard drives, it pays to have a second one so you can back up your data on the second hard drive in case the first hard drive becomes faulty.

Just before the car comes to a complete stop, the anti-locks kick in, even on a dry surface. i replaced front pads and rotors, but problem continues. rear drums and shoes look great. this is on a 1996...

more then likely, the problem is a bad wheel bearing. the magnetic encoder is integral to the bearing in this unit. common problem. too confirm, and to identify the faulty bearing, you need to go for a drive with a scan tool connected watching the live data. when the ABS event occurs, watch the wheel speed sensor outputs to see which one is reading slower then it should. good luck!

When i start my 2008 endeavour,the brake light wont go off. Then when i start to drive, the traction icon comes on. Any solutions?

There are a few items to check.
1) Brake fluid level
2) Brake pads
3) Wheel sensors and wiring (these send data to ABS and traction control)

If all the braking system seems to be fine then I would guess a wheel sensor is faulty which would make the warning lights come on.
