The forks can generally move only 6-12 inches from side to side by using the 3rd lever. However, all modern trucks have forks that are easy to manually move. Just lift up the pin that is holding the fork in its groove, and put it in the groove where it will work best for what you're doing. don't forget to lock it again with the same pin

The fork must not be moving enough or the vacume is to weak. Also there is a vacume plunger in the vacume switch on the trasfere case make sure that is working. light oil can free it up or replace it

How to upgrade my fork to more than 100mm

you sure can. You just need to get one that has the same size diameter steering tube as the one you currently have. You will need some special tools to remove the headset races that are pressed on to the fork and then you can move them to the new fork.

As far as "upgrading" to a longer travel fork, take into consideration that when you do this, you will change the geometry of the bike, effectively "slackening" the head tube angle and they will dramatically affect the steering of the bicycle, it will turn very "sluggishly" and feel like it flops from side to side almost.

Not a big deal if you are on the street, but in a technical offroad situation, this can be a problem if you are not used to the new handling dynamics.

Bicycle frames are literally built around the forks for their handling characteristics. But you say, "I see this done on motorcycles all the time." Yes this is true, but the devil is in the details. On motorcycles a "triple-tree" crown is used and typically the lower tree is machined with the proper offset factored in so that longer forks can be used without lifting the frame and affecting the handling. The one major factor that determines the handling characteristics of two wheeled travel is the measure of the front wheel's "trail". Google it and you will find volumes of information on it and how it is measured. For bicycles there is a "sweet spot" of trail measurement, most manufacturers keep this as a proprietary secret. Before you actually swap out the forks, you can calculate how the longer forks you plan on installing on your bike will affect the trail measurement on your bike to determine if you want to ride the bike this way, before you spend the money. Only you can decide if it is better to save up the money to buy a longer travel bike with the correct geometry or not.

good luck and wear a helmet. More suspension travel just allows you to ride faster off road, so you might be going OTB (over the bars) with the new, longer travel, option. :-)

Bike front fork

As far as I am aware, the Road king doesn't have air assisted forks. As you have a Harley why don't you go to your local dealer and ask them. But, as Harleys are probably the most modified bike around, it may be worth looking on the forks for a tyre type inflation valve.

I pulled the key out while im the locked position ofmy kawasaki ninja 250. now it wont go back in.

I think you are talking about the ignition when you say you moved the key to the lock position. If you will look at the neck of the frame where the front end attaches, you will probably find a fork lock there ... probably in the front, maybe to either side. That is how you lock the front tire ... now, you dont actually lock the front tire, you lock the fork which prevents the fork from being turned. As far as I know, you cant lock the tire itself.

If you are still having trouble getting the key into the ignition, I suggest yo get some spray LOCK lubricant, NOT a popular spray cleaner ... LOCK lubricant. Apply according to manufactures recommendations.

Ive got a gl1100 1982 with air front suspension q-what is the best way to change the front fork to a convensional spring fork and what forks would be the best ?

Your 1982 GL1100 has air assist type of suspension. It has springs in the front as well as the air pressure. This is a heavy bike and the front forks are marginal at best. I have had great results from installing progressive suspension springs and moving up to a heavier fork oil (20wt ) to keep the bike from diving so far during braking.

You should look at having the forks rebuilt with these parts and you will find that the bike handles much better than before.
The springs that are in the bike are old now and should be updated with new style parts.

My 1998 polaris trail blazer 250 automatic wont go forward, my daughter was riding it with no problems and stopped momentarily in a field to make a phone call, when she tried to put it back in gear it...

The problem is a worn shift fork inside the transmision. Replace the shift forks and check the forward gear pinions and forward shift dog pinions for wear. If the pinions show any signs of wear replace them too.

2005 yz 250 shifting problems

Well. I'm a motorcycle mechanic and my 2004 RMZ 250 recently did the same thing, The Shift forks inside my transmission actually bent and were not moving the gears as far as they needed to go and eventually got to where it quit shifting all together, recently also repaired a CR 125 That wouldn't shift at all and it was the shaft the shift forks go on was bent and hung the shift forks. Sounds like your shift forks are bent to me though.

Ice maker is over rotating the forks

No, there is not a way to adjust the harvest cycle of an ice maker. Ya got to buy a new one. They cost anywhere between 50-100 bucks. GOODLUCK!
