SOURCE: Won't read game cartridges

Hey Dean,

Look inside of your cartridge, I can bet the pins are bent. That happens majority of the times the games wont read.

I'm sorry, but to fix this you're going to have to replace that cartridge. There are easier ways of doing this if you dont have the necessary tools , BUT its more expensive.

To replace this cartridge, you're going to need some solder, because all the points on it are connected by solder.

Or, you can buy a brand new board for around 60$ retail.

or send it in to be repaired with a brand new warranty for less than that.

https://www.newcorp.com , they offer it if you cant find anyone local..

best of luck

Game will not play. says there is nothing inserted in the game card slot.

The pins in the slot might be gunked up so that the cartridge is not making connection,
The cartridge may be bad, or if the game was forced into the slot the slot maybe broken.

The cartridge in not going down in the slot even when its forced

Hi, Don't force it. You can damage the gold plating on the cartridge. With a good light look at the prongs in the cartridge make sure they are not bent. Then try carefully inserting it.. Good luck

I bought a new ds game today and it said no game was inserted when it was. brought it back to the shop and they said once you use an r4 card you cant use new games in the dsi anyone else heard of this?

Hi there, that "shop" is talking a load of rubbish. An R4 card uses the same cartridge format as a standard DS cartridge and will cause absolutely no damage to the DS at all. As for fixing the problem, try blowing in the card slot or seeing if any of the pins are bent inside. If they are bent you will need a new card reader slot soldered in, not a job for the faint hearted! See how you get on.

Hope this helps

When game inserted message saying no card inserted

Take out the Game and Blow into the Cartridge and the Cartridge slot on the Console, as there could be dust build up on the Connecting Rails.

On my Atari Jaguar, the power light doesn't turn on. What's wrong? It's plugged in, tried several different outlets (all of which work with other things)

I just got an Atari Jaguar over eBay and had this same problem.
I plugged in my console and tried the power button and... nothing!
I'm not sure if this is your problem but the solution for me was that the Jaguar will ONLY power on when a game cartridge is SUCCESSFULLY inserted and has made proper contact with the pins in the slot.
What I usually do is flick the power switch to the ON position and then load a game pak. I found that with some finicky games The jag will detect that the cartridge is inserted more easily.
Does this help?

Game are not working when inserted into the console

The slot 1 on the board is faulty replace it look down where the cartridge goes in good light and see if the pins are bent look hard they are hard to see sometimes you can straighten them (sometimes) also look at the cartridge and tru and clean the copper pins (extra hard toothbrush)
